Since December started on a Wednesday, this will be a slightly shorter week to record! To recap from my previous post, my goal is to document something I am grateful for every day this month, accompanied by some kind of collage-ish image cut out from box of magazines and disposable books.

Wednesday, December 1: The sun rise and set today were fucked up beautiful. Also grateful for Biz Ladies* with Danielle and Lucy.

*Business Ladies is a monthly meetup we do to check in with each other, help each other stay accountable on our responsibilities, share our challenges, and cheer each other on for our accomplishments and successes.

Thursday, December 2: Grateful to get our Covid booster shot with a friend at a pop-up clinic today. Felt community.

I forgot to look up the artist’s name but it’s out of the book Visions of Britain.

This gold-lined envelope and sticker came from a thank you note a studiomate sent Matt and me for helping them run some errands with our car.
So naturally:

(Gold sticker serving as the halo around the bottom right other-gold circle in the corner.)

I used up some of my leftover gold circles on the back.
Text: Grateful for the community I share. Matt and I got our Covid booster with M. today at the walk-in pop-up station set up in Lents Park today.

AND THEN I used the hole-y gold paper from the envelope for this pressed-leaf collage. I’m planning on doing a post about this other collage-y project later.

Friday, December 3: Grateful to have our cozy, comfy home to cocoon in as our bodies recover from yesterday’s booster shot.
I was mostly just tired and napped, but Matt was properly knocked on his assssssssss.

The blue-y background is the left-over bit from the magazine image I used for the introductory Daily Gratitude header image!
(Blue background photo possibly by Dan Videtich for Nature Conservancy magazine.)

Saturday, December 4th: Grateful for the friendship, humor, love, and creativity Brad Guigar and Dave Kellett share each week on ComicLab.

No joke, ComicLab hits me in a real special place and brightens up my day like you wouldn't believe. Camaraderie, Love, and Creativity, man, what can I say? That shit's my jam.
Both the source images came out of the free magazine Nester: Willamette Week’s Guide to Making a Home that I picked up while Matt and I were running an errand. I can’t find where I set it down, so I can’t lookup the artists specifically 😬
I looked for an image that communicated “two best buds” and found it in the pairing of a teapot and… jug? The illustration of a fruiting blueberry branch was a good symbol of growth and creativity to me, so I used that as the background. The gold circles are left over from December 2nd’s collage and the gold stripes are made of washi tape.
This concludes my four day week of the start of December!
