Hey! So... Matt and I are doing some live book events? Wait, why did I end that with a question mark? We are doing some live book events! We'll be broadcasting live on a book store's site along with a brilliant interviewer and we'll talk books and sex ed and, I dunno, whatever else we feel like. These are all open to the public, although you will need to register first.
First Up (Just THREE DAYS away!) :

Thursday, May 6th @ Third Place Books
6pm PST / 9pm EDT
Clare Bayley is a sex and technology expert, currently a Fellow at the Technology and Public Purpose Project of the Harvard Belfer Center, and has just launched The Nectarine Project which is a sex positive advocacy, research, and lobbying group.
I met Clare earlier this year when reached out to interview me as part of her research on sex and tech for her fellowship and we had such a good, interesting conversation that we kept in touch and have continued to have good, interesting conversations about sex and tech and everything in between (sci-fi shows and fantasy books) since then, so I am sure this public conversation will prove to be just as good and interesting as well -- or your money back! (it is a free event)
Register for our Zoom chat at Third Place Books.
Next up...

Wednesday, May 12th @ Charis Books
4:30pm PST / 7:30pm EDT
Emily Nagoski is the award-winning author of the New York Times bestselling Come As You Are and The Come As You Are Workbook, and coauthor, with her sister, Amelia, of New York Times bestseller Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle. She earned an M.S. in counseling and a Ph.D. in health behavior, both from Indiana University, with clinical and research training at the Kinsey Institute.
Fun facts! Not only did I illustrated her book Come As You Are, but Emily, in turn, co-created a guest comic for OJST about the Brain Science of Desire with her husband and my longtime friend, R. Stevens! Plus, Matt and I have done a couple more comics about her work since then: Come As You Are review, (A Version of) The Sexual Response Cycle, The Stress Response Cycle
Register for our Crowdcast chat at Charis Books.
As far as recordings go, I know Charis is not only making one but also adding closed captions as well, which is awesome. I have no idea what Third Place Books is doing and I probably should have asked someone before I started writing this, but, y'know, obviously I didn't.
Wanna see something weird?

Those are the flower buds of a cabbage.
Did you know cabbages make flower buds?
Did you know their flower buds grow hilariously tall?

I'm not kidding, look at this thing. (It's the one leaning towards the right side of the picture)

that's a cabbage! What the fuck!!! A CABBAGE.
On that note, I hope some'a you can make it to our book chat things! And if you can't, well, at least one of them is being recorded!
