Well, that's embarrassing (VIDEO... again???)

....somehow.... in my previous post... adding a photo into the blog post beneath the embedded video... deleted the video? And transformed the page itself so adding a video back in was... not an option? So now I've got to make a whole brand new post??????? Oh my god. Ok. Fine.

And should anything befall the embedded video, here is just a straight-up link to it on YouTube:

Also, here is a photo of my succulent, Hillary:

She's got a new branch-y flower-y thing sprouting and I am super excited about it:

I picked her up the morning after the 2016 election results came in because I just needed something growing and green in my life. She's stuck it out the last four years and has given me many bizarre, alien flowers since then, plus a handful of baby offshoots- all of whom are named Chelsea.

This Chelsea is going home with Maria Frantz today, after we have a socially distant walk around Mt. Tabor later. It's kind of a big deal!

Every year I do this big recap of the last 12 months and summarize the biggest events into a card for Matt, just so we won't forget the trips we took and the milestones we reached as the individual years blur into one big soup in our memories. Looking back at my 2020 calendar and notes, it was honestly startling to see how often we got together with friends. At least once a week, sometimes more! Dinners and exercise classes and lunch and friends' kids' school plays and craft fairs and thrift shopping and stopping by just to say 'hi'...

Maria and I used to see each other literally every day in the studio and now here we are: Meeting up with our masks on from a distance outside, only the second time since quarantine started ten months ago.

Ah. I got nothin' new to add, it's already all been said before. Strange times, these. Strange times. Hopefully Chelsea will bring a little green and growth to Maria's apartment, like Hillary has brought to mine.

Oh, and lest we forgot, THIS IS THE IMAGE I WANTED TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE SAW IN THE FIRST PLACE:

EDIT: Of fucking course Patreon rotated those succulent photos sideways. Look! They're right-side up on my laptop! And they were right way up in this blog entry before I hit 'post'!

You know what?

I'm not fixing it.

Take it up with Patreon.

Was this TWO weeks ago?? I didn't watch it til today! Saved it up, the same way I save up Lucy's rambles. :) I feel like a much less strange person after looking at your... tape box... scrap paper box... box of fuckin SARDINE TINS. I get it!! The difference is, you'll actually do something (incredible, beautiful) with it in the future. ;)

It took me a bit to get around to watching this but I'm glad I kept the notification up! I love the light and the space in your studio; and you, and your voice, and all the bits and bobs you (and I) keep around, and Hilary and all her little Chelseas. There's a lot to love here. It's also really good to see you looking well, feeling organized and to hear that you're still able to get out and see the people who are important to you in a safe way. It's been a heck of a year for everyone, seeing all the little successes is meaningful and inspiring.

Aww, thanks! Haha I wondered if anyone would actually watch the whole thing /:)

Haha thank you!

"Every time I have to use any of it, whether for an intended purpose or not, I feel vindicated." SAAAAAAMEEEEEEEE. I crow about it to Matt whenever I'm able to pull out one of my scraps that I've saved for literally YEARS and actually use it for something practical. And welcome to my Patreon! Thank you for joining ♄♄♄

This was so lovely and I had a smile on my face from start to finish. Thank you for sharing this and hope you're keeping warm and safe.

Really dig the video, I was able to see this post before I logged in. Not sure if that was intentional or not (or if it was just something weird on my end). Hope your 2021 goes well!

#studiogoals Thank you for sharing this. While my studio/office spaces aren't even a fraction as organized as yours, this makes me feel a lot better about mine. Especially the things I keep in it (little bits that have no actual purpose but have *potential!*) and stuff I've acquired for future projects that have never gotten off the ground. Every time I have to use any of it, whether for an intended purpose or not, I feel vindicated. Like how I'd used cardboard, leftover batting, felt, (that I'd had for YEARS!) and duct tape to make a portable temporary sound booth thing that goes around my desk to record audio for voice work. 😁 I'm a longtime follower of OJST but new patron. It's so perfect that this is the first exclusive content I'm really diving into. It just solidifies my support. Thanks again! 💗💗💗
