AUTOBIO COMIC: The Ridiculous

This is not the finished comic.
This is the digital draft that will get printed in a lighter color onto watercolor paper so that I can hand ink and paint the finished pages.
But that's not gunna happen for, like, a million years, and you know mama needs that sweet, sweet instant gratification of posting my work as soon as it's close enough to being presentable, soooooooooo:
Older patrons may be wondering why this comic feels vaguely familiar and that is because I unintentionally wrote the first draft of this as a blog post right here! I just wanted to show off photos of my kohlrabs and, bam, a season later, now it's a comic. Or, it's a stage of a comic that isn't quite done yet.
Like I said before, this is gunna be painted-- those photos of my sprouts are just stand-ins. I'm really excited to incorporate my botanical illustration, uh, "skills"(?) into a comic!! My cartoony comic work and my traditional media plant illustrations are such wildly different styles and I've never combined them together before :3
Here, that's a sketch I did last year of my sugar snap pea sprouting up. That's the kinda look I'll be going for with my kohlrab drawings!

I've seen you tell it/parts of quite a few times (maybe because I've reread some of your comics a bunch of times), but it still captures me every time. It gives me so much hope for love. Oh yeah and if you would still like to use your kohlrabi for more than just telling wonderfully moving love stories: I've made this with kohlrabi and it's pretty lovely! Even my weird vegetables hating mom liked it!
