Hey everyone,
Breaking out of old habits is hard. Above, you'll see a render from the third Valentina event of this update. You'll also see Riley!
When I first started game development, putting more than one character in a scene was almost impossible to render. The load times were horrendous, the posing became jerky, and the actual render time was almost half an hour per shot. Because it was so long before I could afford an computer upgrade, I naturally think that each event should only star one character.
Which, in an harem game, is a bad idea.
I say this because I was in the midst of story boarding the event above, knowing that I wanted to cover a few topics during an evening slot, and not knowing how to best do it. In a novel as wordy as this one, I have written a lot more exposition than I'd like. I couldn't think of a way to get what I wanted to get across without Valentina just saying it verbatim. I was literally rolling around on the floor trying to come up with ideas when, like, lightning, I was struck with the simplest solution possible. Just put another character in it!
Riley has some story beats I'd love to cover as well, and she's in the perfect position for this event because that story is on hold while we resolve the Hospital Patrol. This is a great time to see these two characters interact, which I don't think we've had happen before. It's usually Chrys and Harper. Or Valentina and Chrys. Chrys is very extroverted.
Anyway, that's a short ramble for me! I'm hoping to finish this event up in the next few days and then start the Josie Event! It's coming!
