[Progress Report]: 28th of January

Hey everyone,

This month really flew by...

I'm still working my way through Valentina's current arc, as we're at one of the points where her personal story and the main story are about to converge. Above you'll see a sneak peek of yet another new environment, and I'm starting to wonder if I'm maybe going a little overboard with some the new assets. Visually, I think it really reflects how the protagonist has to go out of his way to tackle a problem that he has no understanding of, but the more practical side of me is worried about how much development time I'm taking away from the renders to set up environments that may not be the best time investment. Currently, I'm leaning towards more new environments to break up the time you spend in the Academy. A change of scenery to keep the narrative fresh. 

Speaking of Valentina's story, it's coming along in ways I didn't expect. I may need to push back the planned roadmap on the Discord by one development cycle to make sure it has the proper time to breath. Then again, one could make the argument that I've given it too much time to breath! I'm not sure yet. I've scrapped a few scripts and ideas in favor of better ones that I'm much more happy with, but I can't help but look at the deadline with a bit of anxiety. I imagine all creators feel this way sooner or later, maybe all of the time. The deadline is a really great motivator, but it can also feel very oppressive when you want to express your creativity. But, anyway, back to Valentina.

Valentina, throughout this trouble arc, is technically supposed to be "absent" from many of her locations in the Academy. I have yet to implement this, because she would have just vanished for six or so real months. So, if you're wondering why the H-scene content seems so disjointed from this part in her storyline, that is why. That's not technically supposed to be accessible, but totally cutting her off was never a choice. It's something I'll likely go back and implement after her arc fully completes, which would signal her return to "normalcy." 

All this to say that I'll be working on her story for the next two weeks! So, the next progress report will likely be an update on how it's working out.
