Hey everyone,
I'm back to full production!
It took roughly two weeks to get here. I spent the first week after the Early Build setting up the hardware, fixing several issues with the general software, rebinding all of my hotkeys and making the setup comfortable and so on. I spent the second week, this week, making sure that all of the settings and optimizations were ready on my render software and coding software. Above you'll see the first render of the next version of the game! The fated meeting with Kelly Clark and the moment you get to choose your superhero name!
Yes, you'll be able to type it in! No choice boxes for that.
I'm not expecting a lot of events out for this update. Between the computer setup and the incoming holidays, there are sure to be disruptions, but I am still planning on getting the update out on time. The renders are much faster, although I still haven't setup an animation, which will be the true test of the new machine's quality. I'm nervously excited for that, but there are a few events I want to tackle before I get there.
That's it for me this week! Short update as most of the work on the game was simply getting everything settled in. A major component of that was also making sure the game and all of its settings were fully backed up to the cloud. I have a lot more piece of mind on the hardware, and I'm starting to feel hopeful for the next year's ambitious goals.
Special thanks to everyone in the Discord who helped me sort out the most recent lighting issue! For those who weren't there, my original monitor for my desktop is easily over ten years old. I had to buy a new one for the new computer, as three of the adapters I tried failed to produce an image. Well, the new monitor has a lot more contrast in its colors, and that threw off my perception of the game's visual tone. I believe that's all sorted now, so we're back in gear!
Thank you for all of your support,
