Hey everyone,
All of the prep work for the confrontation with Lovestruck has been finished! For the upcoming week, I will be designing and rendering out the events for the Patreon poll winner (voting ends soon!) that way I can dedicate the entire last week to the battle with Lovestruck. I'm not expecting it to be a massive event, but I'm hoping the extra time spent on it will let me smooth any edges and unplanned complications. There's always a few, and I don't want to risk a delay.
I know how ravenous some of you have become over the story.
Speaking of which, I've received quite a few questions about what constitutes a "side character" in Superheroes Suck, with the most popular one being, "Is Artemisia a side character?" Along with several variations. I'm going to try and answer these questions as best as I can.
Why do the Patreon Tiers expand the harem roster?
The simple answer is time. The more relationships / romances / h-scenes people want me to flesh out, the larger the game will be and the more time it will take to make. Superheroes Suck is a full-time job for me, I'm a one-person team, and while I can safely handle this and another full-time job right now, no one aspires to work eighty hours a week forever. By linking the size of the game with the tiers, I can keep the workload manageable and also adjust my day job's working hours to match funding.
Who are the main characters?
Chrys, Harper, Riley, Valentina, and obviously the protagonist are the main characters in Superheroes Suck. Their romances are mandatory for the main story's progression as well as the majority of the character development and character introductions in the game.
Who are the Villains?
There are five major villains planned for Superheroes Suck. At this moment, Lovestruck is the major player in the story, but the others have been planned since the game's start.
Who are the Side Characters?
Anyone who isn't one of the four heroines, the protagonist, or five villains.
How can characters like Artemisia be side characters with how important they are to the story?
One thing I wanted to avoid when designing romanceable side characters in Superheroes Suck was the idea of a "love beam." They weren't in love, and then they are in love. Suddenly. As you know by now, I enjoy taking my time when creating a relationship in the game. As such, I built the characters' stories without worrying about the funding. So, when the funding goals are reached, no one needs to be concerned about anyone being hit by the "love beam." I'll just expand upon what I'm already writing for them. The major difference right now is just a matter of story priority. This is also one of the reasons why you don't see Josie or Miranda in the patreon polls even though they're in the relationship tracker in the game.
I hope that answered many of your questions. If not, I'm always available, so just send another to my inbox or on the discord!
Thank for you all of your support,
