hmm... seems she did not strike a deathblow on the Empress. perhaps the Empress recovers before Paladin and captures her. angry about her nuke, the Empress tortures her to death, then impales Paladin's body on her own energy spear, up through the legs and out the head. the world looks on in horror when Empress broadcasts the dead heroine's body over every channel!
