[Progress Report]: 1st of August

Hey everyone,
It's the week before the early release and the screaming begins again.
Harper's event is done and another congratulations to her for winning the poll! This turned into quite the large event and reaches another peak in her story. Also, since I won't have as many events to push out in Version 0.875, I wanted to try something new with the animations. I think it worked, and I'm very happy with the results, so let me know what you all think when you see them!
There's not much to report on, except that you can expect the Early build release this coming Sunday and that I'll now be switching to the showdown match with Riley for the last week of development. Depending on how much time this event needs, we'll either have a total of four or five events for the release. This isn't a "content" problem, both would be roughly the same amount for content. For example, a forty render larger event takes as much time to produce as two twenty render smaller events. At this point in Superheroes Suck's development, I'm starting to lean towards longer, more complicated scenes with a few shorter scenes spliced into it for pacing.
Oh! Before I leave for more rendering, I wanted to update you on a bit of the "story map." As you know, we're reaching the midpoint of Superheroes Suck's main story and there have been questions about what needs to happen before I start working on that. The "major" events are as follows:
- The Match with Riley
- The Implementation of Detective Keegan and her daughter
- Artemisia's Maintenance Arc
- Chrys and Sumire's combined Arc
- The Midpoint Event
This release, before the real life incident, should have covered the first two points. Riley's match with you has been hinted at and built toward for the past several versions, and you've seen the Keegans and their story progress in the last build, along with beginning Artemisia's own personal character story.
For Chrys and Sumire, well, Chrys needs so much content at this point they'll likely take up their own development cycle. I need to update her look around the Academy, and she has the lowest amount of repeatable events in the game, which I think is affecting her popularity. Fans of Chrys and Sumire, don't worry, they're on the radar.
There will also likely be a few other things tackled before the midpoint, the H-scene polls, for example, aren't "main story" events but will also be implemented during this period. Character romances not mentioned, like Valentina's, are also important to the story, but not essential to the main plot at this time. The above is sort of a general checklist of things that must be done before I hit the midpoint of the game's main plot.
Anyway, that's it for me this week.
Thank you all for your support,
~Solace

2021-08-02 06:44:29 +0000 UTCWell, Riley is the former leader of the team. She used to occupy the spot that Missus Powell is preparing the protagonist for. All of the girls trust Riley, with the only big tension being her relationship with Chrys, something you patched up when Riley rejoined the Academy.

2021-08-01 23:17:55 +0000 UTCI find it curious that Riley is he only one who at leas has come out and said she knows about all the others. Obviously Chrys/Harper know about each other. Valentina saw some events, but unless I missed something noone knows about Riley. I get why Ellie would lose it if she finds out MC is after everyone. But that also goes down the rabbit hole of is she a future LI. So many questions...lol
