[Progress Report]: 31st of January

Hey everyone,

It's the end of the month already? That one really went by quick. Above is some of the progress being made on Harper's revisions events! I wanted to give her some content this week so that you guys can see how it's being handled. Her events differ a little from Valentina's - Valentina was supposed to help develop your fitness, but Harper's tutoring sessions are actually there to help with world building in Superheroes Suck. My plan is to make each session a modest size with a few interesting tidbits about the game world. This way, you're not all stuck reading paragraph after paragraph of busy work, and it neatly replaces the generic screen. I'll be removing those generic screens at some point in the future, as after Harper's revisions, they'll no longer be necessary.

Oh! For those that started a new game, I am aware of the protagonist's fitness jumping all over the place at the end of Valentina's training events. I have it coded so that it will automatically set you at the right threshold, so it shouldn't block progress. Once the revision content is done, I'll go back and fix that problem. I haven't done it now because I'm still making changes, and changing the same variable too many times can lead to progression bugs or save compatibility bugs.

I'll have finished this portion of Harper's revisions by Monday, and I plan on finally moving onto the main story! I've been quite eager to tackle Chrys' first patrol mission, which is what you guys can expect coming up! I'll talk more about that next week after I've set the foundation down for it. In the meantime, there's another character I have planned that I would like to introduce in the future.

Some of you have inquired as to who "Detective Keegan" is and when we'll see her in the story. Well, I think this is the perfect time for a Patreon Poll. Expect one coming up that will help with her personality and design. I've had you guys give me lots of feedback for outfits, game design, the animations, and so on, but I would like to try a character more "built by committee." I think it would be a fun experiment, and I haven't had a poll up for this developing cycle yet. I don't think Detective Keegan will be done for 0.70 since the poll will be finished by next month, but she would make an appearance in the month afterward!
