[Progress Report]: 10th of January

Hey everyone,

What a past couple of weeks, am I right?

I'm back to working on the game and preparing things for Version 0.70. First I want to make the scheduling clear: I am restarting development as of this week, so the next version of Superheroes Suck should be available six weeks from today for the early release and seven weeks for the public release. On the bright side, because of all the work that was released on Version 0.675, that means the next release for the public version will be absolutely massive, as it will contain Valentina events and all of this new content. On the downside, we are mostly starting from scratch as I get things in order, so it's quite the delay.

Here are my plans for the next few weeks:

Those are the basic goals I have outlined as I settle back into the big chair. There are other things I'd like to touch up as well, like more music variety, but that navigation thing has been a problem for a while, especially for Android users. I am listening to your feedback, and now I think I have the coding ability to tackle this. It might be a little sloppy, but we'll get it done.

As you can see from the above, Riley's second story arc is progressing and I'll be working on her H-scene later this week. This is the work that was done on the week I was flying out, but I couldn't ship in Version 0.675 because the coding and the rest of the renders weren't finished yet.

That's it from me this week. Everything else in the post is a update on how I'm doing. Short answer: I'm okay and I do not foresee anymore delays unless something happens to my computer. And it shouldn't! That hamster is well-fed.

Thank you all for your support,

~Solace

Thank you & Life Update

I also wanted to thank all of you for the kind words, the encouraging messages, and the understanding during this very difficult time. I've noticed that many of you actually increased your pledges an entire tier to help me out, and I just wanted you all to know that the money last month went to a wonderful bouquet of flowers for the service, and the money this month was donated to my Uncle's fund. He, unfortunately, died before his company's life insurance kicked in. We're handling it okay, and no one is going to go homeless.

You all know I don't usually give life updates unless they affect the game's schedule. This isn't a blog, after all. In an ideal world, I take three "days off" a year: my birthday, my mother's birthday, and Halloween (it's my favorite holiday). That said, I know there will be some questions about how much work I put in this week and why the game isn't coming out a week early. The long story made short: I am using the work this week as a buffer to ensure that the game will not be delayed. I repeat: it will not be delayed unless my computer fries (not expected, like a power outage). The reason I mention this is because I found out that my grandmother contracted covid yesterday and the doctors don't think she will pull through. 2021 is already a hell of year. Unlike my uncle, I was prepared for this happening, so it should not change my schedule. I may need a day to attend the service, but the funeral arrangements were made months ago when my grandfather passed. I'm doing okay right now. Don't worry - and don't feel the need to donate more! Just seeing you all here interested in Superheroes Suck means a lot to me. One dollar is enough - I promise.

Thank you all,

~Solace

A strategic delay. I'll patiently but eagerly look forward to .70. Here's to you Solice! I hope you have a bright new year.
