Helioscope is my communal art studio that two dozen comics professionals and I share together in downtown Portland. I've been working there in some capacity for the last decade. My studiomates have nurtured my artistic development, they've mentored me to navigate the sea of self-employment and freelance, they've held me while I sobbed and celebrated my successes.
