[Progress Report]: 26th of July

Hey everyone,

The third patrol is finally done! In hindsight, giving myself only about four days to finish a patrol event when they usually take close to seven wasn't my brightest idea, but with extra hours it's all finished and I'm already halfway through Riley's last event for this cycle. There's quite a few story developments that begin in update 0.50, with the above image giving you a little sneak peak at a new area you'll be visiting during the story.

I'm still testing out the new lighting techniques I've developed. I think it's a major improvement, but I'd love to hear your feedback once the update comes out. I think my own biggest, personal criticism about my renders is that they tended to look a little plastic. I don't know if I've fully fixed it, but this looks like a step in the right direction. As an aside, the new lighting means that not all of the characters look the way I thought they would anymore... I'll be touching up those models fairly soon and before you all see them.

Once I'm done with Riley's last event for this update, I'll move onto the winner of the poll for character events! It looks like it'll be Chrys, which fits well with where the story is going.

Usually by the last week, I have a lot more free time to work on other aspects of the game, but it looks like I'll be burning the candle from both ends for the next few days! There's a ton of coding and other environment renders I want to get ready, so wish me luck!
