Yessss! And we're LIVE!!!
You can now pre-order your copy of VOLUME THREE on Kickstarter!
We've delivered all previous campaign rewards on time (ahead of schedule, even!) and on budget, and our books are honestly just goddamn beautiful. And best of all, each book is self-contained and standalone, so you don't need to have read any of the previous editions to fully enjoy it. THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who helps us achieve our goal and get these books produced!
Haha, dang, the campaign has only been up one hour and we're already 25% funded. ...Dare I hope we get fully funded in one day? Ahg, don't jinx it, Erika! No, but for reals, that would be super duper cool. (...aaaand in the time it took me to write this update, we're now 28% funded)
As if that weren't all exciting enough, I can finally share my Big Secret News that I've been hinting at in my $1 posts.
We have a really unique arrangement with Limerence, the kind of partnership I think we're going to be seeing more and more of as self-publishing webcartoonists and traditional publishers evolve to work together. Matt and I have hit nothing but dead ends in our efforts to get our series picked up by book distributors because our work is too racy, but with the help of Limerence now we'll be able to get our stuff into regular book stores! As they explain in their press release:
"Limerence Press is printing Moen and Nolan's Oh Joy Sex Toy Volume 3 Kickstarter books, helping the creative team reduce costs. The unique and limited-Kickstarter edition cover will be exclusive to Kickstarter backers, and serve as the books that Moen and Nolan sell directly online, at conventions, and at book signings. A separate Limerence Press cover will be distributed to comic shop retailers, bookstores, and specialty shops—avenues previously inaccessible to the creators."
We’re still financing ourselves, and now Limerence is giving us access to their distribution plus hooking us up with their sweet printer discounts to help us reduce the cost of producing our books.
The world of publishing and getting creators paid is changing and Oni and Limerence are leading the way. Matt and I couldn't be fucking prouder to be working with them and
more grateful to everyone who helps us raise the funds to make it happen
.
Thank you so much, everyone.
