This week I review The Sex Myth by Rachel Hills! It's a super interesting read about the way our society views people based on what kind of sex they imply they're having, how sex is treated not just an activity that you can do but it's treated as a definition of who you truly are. Super interesting stuff!

I count myself as sex-positive, but I am also a very solitary, private person and therefore a) don't meet a lot of new people and b) am extremely cautious about trust and relationships. I hate the idea that people either look down on or feel sorry for me for not getting laid on a regular basis, when that is simply who I am. It tore me up as a kid, but fortunately as an adult I embrace the "you do you" philosophy (not a euphemism for masturbation).

Good ol' Erika Moen, putting the Positive back in Sex Positive. <3 I definitely used to be this in-your-face-so-sex-positive person. On the other hand, at least I was always POSITIVE; I've always felt mega uncomfortable with people who are "SUPER SEX POSITIVE," but look down on couples who have monogamous relationships, get married before having sex, don't prioritize sex, etc. I may have to pick up this book. (Also I love all the art details in this one! The simple way you represented the tiny writing on the book cover, the little pregnant couple giving the thumbs-up, the way you drew Miss I'm So Sex Positive, all of it!) I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I picked up a copy of The End Of Sex last year and I think it might have quite a bit of overlap. Intimacy vs. sex. Might wanna look into it!
