Menstrual Sponge by Dwam

http://www.ohjoysextoy.com/sponge/

Dwam, my long-time cartoonist, tattoo artist (They tattooed the roots on my right arm!), queer, sex positive friend from France, shares a comic about the menstrual sponge! This is a really interesting alternative to tampons and cups, and is favored by some adult actors when they've gotta perform during That Time of the Month. Really interesting information to me and I'm sure it will be for you as well!

LMAO, stabby indeed! Thanks for the feedback @Betty Anne! I've just completed a whole heap of reading on them as well and have ordered my first one... Eeep, here goes!

The Moon Cup is very good, but there are a lot of great menstrual cups available! I use a Diva Cup (small, though I'm thinking of upgrading to the larger "post-35" size, because I am now post-35 and post-baby, and I'm curious to see how much difference there is) and love it. I have not used a tampon or a pad since I bought it, save the post-baby period when I couldn'tuse anything but pads. That three months reminded me exactly why I love my cup. ^^; This is one place to start for info, mainly because it gives the names and price range of the more popular ones: http://menstrualcupreviews.net/ I say "one place to start," because you'll find each woman has her own unique needs and preferences. And, you'll definitely want to read up on any you want to try! I would have been sorely disappointed in my Diva Cup if I hadn't known it was possible to safely cut the stem off it - I don't need it, and I'm shaped in such a way that it's a stabby little pain in the...well, parts you don't want stabbed constantly. ;) (It stabs me everywhere; I even managed to stab my clit with it once while trying to adjust it, before I finally had enough and cut the stem. Once you see how cups work, you'll see what an achievement that is. XDD) Once it was stemless, it's been perfect; I've almost forgotten it, it's so comfortable.

I've used the sea sponge, the wet & dry commercial sponges before. Unfortunately the problem I found, and one that Dwam points out, mine had a tendancy of getting stuck! To the point where on one occasion I had to go to a doctor to get a particularly tricky little sucker removed! After having to firstly explain to the mortified, conservative, female doctor about what had happened, and then have to lie back, like an upturned tortoise with it's legs in the air, with tools still deep in her hoo-hoo, while the doctor called pathology on the phone, and then proceeds to hand it over for me, to explain to the pathologist what she was talking about! .... well, needless to say I never ever used another one! I am intrigued to hear about the mooncup however... will check it out!

Cool! I'm really happy with my cup, but this is great info for people who want to try something different. <3
