Hmm. I looks like that text now says "Generally..." Which has the virtue of being _true_, but I think still kinda misses the point that "assignment at birth" is fundamentally arbitrary. If we entirely got rid of the practice of having gender listed on birth certificates (which would be nice!) you'd still have whatever organs you're going to have. I'd say that a prostate is part of the typical male body, just like testes and a penis are; typical female bodies don't have it. (Actually, what I'd say is that it's part of the basic XY phenotype -- the way that having XY genetics normally expresses itself, absent any genetic or environmental factors interfering -- but that may be too technical for many readers.)

"Assignment at birth" has literally nothing to do with what organs you're carrying around. A clear counter-example: There's the well-known case of the Dominican tribe who have a mutation that causes carriers to be born appearing female, but then go through both the masculinization process that normally occurs in utero, and male puberty, starting around age 12: <a href="http://www.usrf.org/news/010308-guevedoces.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.usrf.org/news/010308-guevedoces.html</a> These people would be AFAB, but as adults have prostates. There are also plenty of other cases of people having ambiguous genitalia getting assigned "wrong" relative to how their internal organs have developed or will develop.
