Added 2014-04-30 05:24:25 +0000 UTCMy studiomate and mentor, Steve Lieber*, completely out of the blue offered to help me out with the backgrounds in this bonus comic for the book :') I'm drawing much more slowly than usual, I shoulda been able to polish off the remaining pages of this five page story, but I've still got a full page and a bit left to finish inking. Bad Erika. But at least them backgrounds in the first three pages are done! DANG.
Anne Moloney* has been my friend for over a decade and has created a handful of charming Kickstarter videos in the last year or so-- so obviously I had to have her make mine. We had our first consultation tonight, which I was super nervous about because I was thinking I had to have the script completely locked down (which it's not) and then she'd just be in charge of hitting "record" on her camera. But instead she sat down with me and helped me hammer on the script and brainstorm what visuals we want to include and just generally made this whole process a hundred times less scary than it was in my mind. Honestly, everything about this Kickstarter has me frrrrreakingggggg oooooooutttttttt. But Anne was a saint; a calming, soothing saint.
I guess the moral of today is that your friends can help you take care of things that are super stressful to you but to them they're like 'hey now, this ain't no thang' and then at the end you've got a bunch of weight taken off your shoulders because FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC.
