Lordy Bagordy, I finished the comic yesterday! Turns out, when you don't have to draw much fucking, it hardly takes much time at all to finish! I woulda told you about it yesterday except I didn't get home till 11pm because I was at (Local Portland sex shop and affiliate of OJST) She Bop, taking my first workshop with them! Also, I discovered it takes an hour and a half to bike from their shop back to my house. Haha, neat.
But yeah! So I took She Bop's "Beyond Monogamy" workshop and next week I'm taking their "Full Bodied Fellatio" class. This is the first time I've been comp'ed into an event to cover it for a comic! Oh yes, doing a weekly sex comic is finally gettin' me places and opening doors ;) I'm kind of nervous? I don't know why. Like, reviewing a toy is easy peasy, talking about sex ed is fun, and sharing my own sexual experiences is second nature, but for some totally irrational reason, reporting on an event makes me nervous? Like, I'm not sure what to say? "Guys, I went to this thing"-- will that be interesting enough? It better be. Because I did have a good time and think it's a great shop. I don't know why "covering an event" feels like a completely different genre that is outside my abilities as a writer, but humans are complicated and I'm a special snowflake so waddaya gunna do.
So with the comic taken care of on Thursday, that meant today, Friday, was a shipping day (as usual) and also a PENCILING DAY (not usual!)
I roughly penciled a five page bonus comic that's going in the book.
Oh hey! Speaking of the book! So the next comic going up, the one I finished yesterday, that is officially ONE YEAR'S WORTH OF OJST COMICS.
In the last 12 months I've produced 174 pages of OJST, posted 39 pages of guest comics, and did a 1 page extra OJST comic for Cards Against Humanity's winter comics pages thing. That's 220 pages of comics going into this book.
Plus the nine extra pages of comics I'm drawing exclusively for the book, and then there's the rest of the bonus material in the form of text and spot illustrations.
I hope you guys like thick asses because let me tell you this is gunna be one thick ass book, friends.
