Added 2019-03-22 18:17:56 +0000 UTCNow I am in the opinion that coding should be done in bunches and that is why the 2-2.5 month development cycle has been used for such a long time. I think when coding in bunches it is slightly faster, but I'm starting to slowly change my mind on this, because coding 80-100 hours all in a row for slightly larger updates is also quite draining mentally.
I've known for a long time that patrons want monthly updates. I would get more patrons if I did monthly updates, hell the more frequent the better. Why I haven't done it this far is because I didn't build the game with this update process in mind. You the player are forced to go to work. So there has to be content at work. You are forced to go home so there has to be new content there or else you the player is just trying to skip through whatever doesn't have content and going to the next objective.
I figured if I sprinkle content in all areas every patch, this would give meaning to all areas in the game and have something to do in all the areas, some goal you work towards in all areas.
Now I'm not sure if this line of thinking is right or wrong....
With that being said... I have decided to give shorter development cycles a try and see what everyone thinks. I've set aside extra storylines, if I get done early I'll add on. Hopefully, it's going to be something that can have a development cycle of around a month. Now this is not a guarantee. As you guys know I suck at deadlines and I tend to over estimate what I'm capable of doing... and I tend to add more things as I find design flaws... The game is not 100% linear, there are things that can be design mistakes either in writing or the actual code, and actually quite often this gets figured out during testing. As I've realized for quite a while now and I've spoken to many patrons about this is that I need to get more organized as well, at the same time my personality conflicts with organization quite a bit. I'm kind of an all over the place kind of guy. I know this can be quite annoying to put up with at times, but I do work very very very hard and I do care a lot about making a good game...
Anyways good talk... Voting will decide what this narrow focus should be.
Things I want to get done for certain:
- I need to still redo all the UI for Bailey and Angela at home. The inconsistencies are too glaring and the UI or lack there of for Bailey is getting in the way of proper design.
- And then finally have Angela Olivia Threesome.
- Do 4 4k renders for this month because I missed it last month.
