I'm watching it now and unfortunately I'm getting Chapter 2 vibes, not Chapter 1. I'm worried it'll rely on ridiculous, over the top CGI and jump scares instead of trying to build REAL FEAR.

I'm pretty much okay with gore and horror in general,and I love Stephen King, but that opening was gory for the sake of being gory, and that's just lazy. Tells me all I need to know about the quality of storytelling I can expect from this show. I'm out. EDIT: Yes, I realize Oak kept watching and may have even liked it by the end (I don't know, I didn't get that far). I'm agreeing with his reaction to the opening.
