I wouldn't be surprised if there is no redemption for Beom-seok, looking at the poster for the series that they have on the TV and at the top of this post, it looks like a photograph that has been torn up to remove Beom-seok.

2025-10-06 18:28:06 +0000 UTCDon't know if anyone wants to read my 2 cents but just in case π I haven't gone through things as extreme as Beom Seok and didn't take a bad turn like him (it's my 1st watch so haven't seen beyond this ep), but as someone who has been bullied AND had a bad situation at home, I feel like I understand his character. I'm not mad at him. Unpopular opinion I guess but I think he hasn't crossed the line yet although he's pretty much standing on it (cutting the brakes was indirect, and he didn't look proud of himself after). The way I understand his psyche, he has low self esteem + he always expects the worse, so the little voice in his head was telling him there's no way these guys are true friends, it's too good to be true, and it led him to self sabotage the friendship. Self sabotaging is typical of people with low self esteem coming from past trauma. He also has a lot of bottled up anger and sadly he's unleashing it on the wrong person. In the writing and acting I see signs that he's aware what he's doing is wrong so hopefully he ends up making the right choices.
