EARLY ACCESS: Death Note 37 FULL REACTION

Comments

I watched it in Japanese back in the day, and decided to watch dubbed one with you. Not gonna lie, Nier's voice is so ruined in the dubbed version, making last episode like twice as worse :(

Goodbye, Light.

Rena Unnie

true but there is still a difference, i can listen to a corny dialogue in english and it does not invoke the same cringe feeling as it would, hearing it in my mother tongue (german). It is that way at least for me.

Elmo Pelmo

You finished the 2nd anime of your life woohoo 🥳 It was a joy to watch you guys bc you were so invested and loved it I really like the ending, but I wish they had stuck to the manga: After getting shot by Matsuda, Light desperately reaches out to Ryuk and tells him to kill everyone. But Ryuk writes Light's name, telling Light that he simply lost. Ryuk was curious to see how Light would weasel his way out of the situation, but the game's over. So the motivation to write Light's name is the same as the anime, so I don't mind Light running away etc. The change I really regret not seeing in the anime: After Ryuk wrote Light's name in the Death Note, he reminded Light of an earlier conversation where they talked about the rule "The human who uses this note can neither go to Heaven nor Hell." Back then, Light had figured out that this means that there's neither heaven or hell, and Ryuk confirmed it. Every human goes to the same place, ALL HUMANS ARE EQUAL IN DEATH. AFTER THEY DIE, THE PLACE THEY GO IS THE NOTHINGNESS. Another blow to Light's ego. 😌 Thx for watching! 💛

Sammy

I think Porco Rosso would suit their tastes.

swingo

Omg monster would be so good!

Jesiii97

I usually prefer the sub but for a few shows, including this one, I prefer the dub. I like the little jokes they added like "I could never dream of living in a world without Light!" "Yes, that would be dark." And the VAs, Light's especially, just knock it out of the park. I was able to get an autograph from Misa's dub VA which was awesome, hoping one day to also meet Light and L's VAs. What is interesting is the anime ending is slightly different from the manga's. I like the sequence they added of Light running past his former self before he used the notebook. In the manga, Light pathetically begs Ryuk to write everyone's name down. Ryuk gets bored and writes Light's name down so he dies in the warehouse.

Stella

They should read the manga that came out a couple years ago!!! Someone let them know!!!

Yarod Razo

Tons of very esoteric and complex dialogue, yeah. And no, English voice acting is actually much more logical and natural than Japanese voice acting. It's gotten better in recent years, but it's still very much the case that Japanese voice actors are cast based on the "personality" of the character and not what the character actually would sound like. The classic example is comparing Goku and Naruto. They both sound exactly the same, yet one is a 40 year old monkey alien and one is a 13 year old human boy. Their physique are different, their DNA is different, their size is different, there's no reason they should ever sound the same, but they do in Japanese. The reason for that is because they're both positive and energetic characters that like fighting, so in the Japanese understanding they should sound very high pitched, abrasive and speak extremely quickly. Meanwhile in English they don't sound alike at all because they're no REASON for them to sound alike. It turns out your personality doesn't actually affect your voice at all. You don't suddenly go two octaves lower because you're an edgy character like Sasuke, yet in the Japanese philosophy that's exactly how it is. It makes no sense, hence me calling it unnatural.

Marco Gutierrez

“more natural voice acting” is a stretch when we’re talking about dub in a lot of cases 😂 as you said though the guys should stick with dub if it’s easier to understand. Especially for fmab, lord knows that show has so much dialogue that’s extremely important for the story

ct

Eren is 100% genocidal. Are you serious? Genocide means the mass killing of an ethnic group or group from a particular nation with the aim of destroying that particular nation/ethnic group. What Eren did fits that to a T. Eren is one of my favorites but let’s not lie. That man was definitely genocidal.

ct

You guys are getting so spoiled for anime, watching AoT, then Death Note, and now moving onto FMA. I worry you won't be able to enjoy anything else after these fine cuisines haha. As for language, I'm always an advocate for watching it in a language you understand, no matter how much the fanatics scream that you *have* to watch in the original language. There's simply no replacement for inflection, more natural voice acting, voices that better fit the characters, as well as all of the localization that dub companies do by trying to make the dialogue sound more natural while preserving the meaning. Regardless, whatever language you guys end up watching is your choice and we'll all tune in listening to our own versions as well. The most important part is that you get to enjoy the fantastic story.

Marco Gutierrez

The corny dialogue is literally there in Japanese too lol. Japanese people acknowledge that the dialogue is corny and that people don't sound like this in real life. They state that the voice acting is cringe. The only reason that weebs don't notice is because it's a foreign language. It makes no sense listening to something in a language that you don't know.

Marco Gutierrez

Eren isn't genocidal. You could call him homocidal at best, but considering he's literally in the middle of a war that the rest of the world declared, with no terms of engagement mind you, all of the killing that he's doing is ltietlaly for the survival of his people. Genocide means that you're killing people with the aim of wiping out an ethnic group or skin color. Eren isn't doing that, many of the people he's killing are Eldians just like his people are. He's killing them because they declared war on his people and wnst their extermination. It's literally an act of self defense and war.

Marco Gutierrez

Gotta agree, AOT was my first anime and it'll always have a special place in my heart, but Death Note I feel is the better anime. It was super consistent and I think that's what impressed me the most with this series, cause usually I've always heard that an anime will have its filler episodes and it's flashback episodes, and while that doesn't bother me because that is a way to get us more character development and whatnot, Death Note was just consistently progressing the story forward. Also I wanna mention this, in episode 34 hearing that beat, I said I wanted to find the name of it, well I did and it's called "Near's Theme B" and I found a 1 hour loop of it and have it saved on one of my YouTube playlists. I fucking love it, doubt I'll ever get tired of it. Today I had it playing while I was doing dishes and man it helped pass the time by quickly lol. Anyways looking forward to the next series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, no idea what it could be about (I'm guessing alchemy plays a big role though lol) but I'm super down to check it out. As for my rating of this it's easily a 5/5. Perfect in every single way to me.

I'm Batman

you guys should watch “L’s funeral” it’s on youtube.

Belly p.

I can see the future gags of them pretending to write each others names down when they significantly disagree lol

Scott Bringel

Also, yes, I think the female characters are the bigger issue by far. So much lost potential there. I don't like to stir the pot, but the authors are pretty notorious for writing women as one-dimensional and/or traditional to the point that it often comes to question if they are sexist. All I'm saying is I wouldn't be surprised.

Seth

Is it really asking for perfection to expect one of the most competent investigative forces in the world to do the bare minimum effort against a new threat (fake badges, giving orders on how to deal with and report certain situations)? I'm not even saying what happened is terrible or impossible, just that it felt like a bit of a stretch to me. Point is, there are many things that I think could have been written better, and there are also plenty of things that I think are masterfully done. To each their own, though!

Seth

i wanted to comment and say if your interested in a pretty accurate estimate on how many people all of the diffrent kira’s and light killed throught the series film theory has an incredible video from years ago where matt patt breaks down how to gather the data to determine how many people were killed by the deathnote it’s a very good video and only makes light that much worse 💀

Brady Schwartz

Imagine you're Japanese, and you want to watch Breaking Bad. Do you watch it in the original English, or do you watch it in Japanese dub? Do you think Walter White's performance, or Jessie, or any other character is going to come across the same hearing it in Japanese vs. the original language? Do you think the performance is going to be on the same level? If you had to recommend to someone who didn't speak English to watch a show like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, etc., would you tell them to watch it in English with subtitles so they can understand, or their own native language, but with dubbed over voices and different performances? Which do you think will get them an experience closer to the original vision of the show?

JC

Regardless of how good dubs get, they're still not comparable to the original performances. It's like people watching Breaking Bad or Avengers or Game of Thrones in a dubbed over language--you lose the original performances of the actors, who had much better direction from the original director of the show. It's a loss in quality, even if you think the quality is still "good".

JC

It's amazing that you all enjoyed this series so much! In the end, it all comes down to personal taste because AoT and Death Note are very different genres, and saying that one is better than the other really depends on individual preferences. (Personally, AoT is my favorite, though I still think Death Note is a great series.) As for the ending, I think it's less about people disagreeing with it and more about wanting to see what would have happened if Light had actually won. For example, both Light and Eren in AoT became characters that viewers grew attached to in some way, haha. Even though one was a serial killer and the other a genocidal maniac, we still had that curiosity about how the world would have turned out if they had succeeded (Well, Eren did succeed about 80% of the way.) 😬 Now comes FMAB, which I also highly recommend watching dubbed. Since it returns to the fantasy genre, there might be a lot of details to pay attention to—just like in AoT—so the dub might make it easier to follow. (I’ve never watched it dubbed because I always prefer the original language, but at least we have the advantage of pausing and rewinding if we need to reread something, haha.)

Magda Ch

plz watch full metal in dub!!!

Low

I'm an advocate for subbed over dubbed, but in your case as a reactor, i can understand why dubbed is more suitable with all that content u are watching. So watch it however yo see fit. But u can't complain about corny dialogues :D *eating a Chip*

Elmo Pelmo

Definitely not the "general consensus" I'm familiar with. I think that largely depends where you're looking.

ChainChompBraden

Hope you guys watch FMAB in Dub

Mehdi R.

I did not like the ending very much, nor really the post L episodes for a couple reasons. A big thing is wanting to see someone actually outsmart Light which doesnt really happen. Essentially, it comes down to a i know that you know that I know that you know that I know. Its just kinda goofy. Also, Light wasnt really bested, Mikami was, so it didnt feel like as much of an earned victory. For me, pretty much everything post L is rushed and a lot doesnt really make sense, but is rushed by so fast you just accept it. Near and Mello come across to me as like, well we got our twist now that L is dead, what next. Hmmmm what about two Ls. Near from the get go just jumps to absurd conclusions that he couldnt possibly make, but is always right and gets rewarded whereas L was consistently only piecing together things rationally and lost. Also, Why couldnt Light have killed off the entire task force at any point between L dying and Near showing up. That would have essentially solved everything. All that being said, I still love the show and its one of my favorites despite its flaws.

Kyle Ledermann

In the end Light lost but it was due to Mikami he wasn't actually outsmarted.

Jacob

Nice reactions and Journey on Death Note guys! I missed DIamond Dave on your Death Note reaction, but I hope he watches it on his own time.Maybe after DD watches it on his own time, he can make a video saying his rating and talking about what he enjoyed about it. I think you should watch anime in whatever language you want. I know that you respect the original material, but I also understand that dub makes for a better experience in a way for you guys due to it being your native language and due to the fact that you will understand what's going on more without possibly missing something like you would in the sub. I also know that you guys take notes and you will miss something in sub if you're taking down some notes instead of reading the screen and I know that sometimes the dailogue of the subs can go by fast without being able to read it all and their could be two dialogues at the same time on the top and bottom of the screen at times with the main dialogue and background dialogue which can make it hard to catch it all at times. I do understand as well, that you can miss some of the animation if you are always focused on reading. In general, watch whatever you like either in sub or dub. It's you're prefernce and i'll be here for whatever you choose, don't let anyone stop you from watching it how you like and if some people don't watch because of you're prefernces, that's fine because if they really loved watching your reactions for you, they would stick by you no matter how you choose to watch the material. Anyway, because your Patreon is a watch along format, anyone can watch the anime in sub, even if you watch in dub. It wouldn't take away from the viewers experience if they watch in sub and you guys can still watch in dub. I see that FMAB has won the next anime and I can't wait to see your reaction to it as well as other anime in the future!

[ GMAN ]

i mean it's not like id really expect a man to get the grievances with the female characters in this show but sure

peachy af

Love that y’all loved death note so much! And now I cannot wait for FMAB!! Regardless of what language u watch in, it’ll be good. FMAB will prepare u for the common Shonen comedy tropes and dynamics (good, considering some popular Shonen will prolly win in the next polls, tho I wish it won’t) whilst still providing a complex and powerful story.

Leif

Nah I'd have to disagree. Female characters are written exactly how they should have been. Raye Pember maybe could have been written a bit differently, but it's not out of line of something you would expect. We are human and do human things. Agent or not, you can't change what you are lol. So I don't doubt someone like Pember would have made such a mistake. How many times do you see authorities mess up on the news? You can't expect them to be perfect and it's pretty stupid to demand perfection from characters always.

Jo

I still need to watch FMAB too! Maybe I’ll just watch it with them 😂

Scott Bringel

Some people have reading difficulties mate

Clorox bleach G

Dubs are better for reactions, stick to them!

Alexander Alayon Jr

Fine feathered friends foes 🫡

Steven W

My gripe with this show is definitely the female characters too. Especially misa. Its such a shame

peachy af

Honestly, the concept of this series is interesting, but I think it's lacking in execution at some points. For example, Raye Penber had to give out his name to Light. You're telling me that he wouldn't report that, given the dynamic of Kira, who can kill with a name and face? You're also trying to tell me that the FBI agents wouldn't have fake badges either because of that? Stuff like that and the way the female characters are written is a bit of an eye-roll for me, so overall I'd rate the show a 9/10. Regarding voice acting, I prefer whatever I think is better. There are many dubs I hold in high esteem, like this and Fullmetal Alchemist, but there are just as many if not more that I prefer in their original language (not to say their dubs are bad though), like Re:Zero (another great show) and Attack on Titan. At the end of the day, do what is best for you! If it's hard to take notes and focus with subbed, that's perfectly reasonable and okay.

Seth

TOTALLLLYYYY agree. Death Note is one of those animes with a standout dub so i didnt mind at all that they watched it like that for this show specifically, but god forbid they were to watch like KNY or BNHA dubbed or something that would be enough for me to not wanna watch 😭

peachy af

the general concensus is that people tend to like DN more than AOT, but up until this week, I had DN 2 spots above AOT in my personal anime list (in between was devilman crybaby 2016) so it's nice to hear that you guys liked it more too!! this was so fun!

peachy af

how fitting is it that an idealist like matsuda who trusted Light like a brother was the one who brought him to his knees.......

peachy af

The viewers recommended it to them just because its dialogue heavy. I assume for FMAB it'll be dub as well as its iconic in dub. I would imagine though that for anime such as demon slayer they'll watch sub as they do watch korean shows in sub

Bloop

theres always been huge debates on whether the ending was good. I personally don't like the ending as all it took to catch light was switching the pages because of another person which i dont feel is right considering he took out L who is leagues above nell and mellow. There are also bonus episodes to watch if ur interested

Bloop

me too! i think i'll watch FMAB and then come back here one day when I finished it

peachy af

i kind of disagree. sure dubs can be fine, the hate on them is a little absurd, but the voice acting in the show's intended language (japanese) far surpasses the translated dub. this isn't because i think japanese necessarily sound better or anything, but the ORIGINAL language always sounds better. You can't have shows like AOT or haikyuu without their japanese VAs. Death note, saiki k, and maybe FMAB are just standout shows that have both an amazing sub and an amazing dub. But at the end of the day, they can watch whatever they think will make them appreciate the show more

peachy af

I get that reacting is easier for you guys in dub, but I can't recommend watching every anime in dub. Death Note's isn't bad, but a lot of anime doesn't translate into dub that well, especially when characters get all wacky and yell a lot. I always prefer to watch things in their original language anyway, I feel like there's something lost in a dubbed version of anything.

Smuckfuzzer

Light's voice actor deserves allllll the praise here. this finale wouldn't have been so good without him

peachy af

Seconding this! Monster is amazing and the most similar to death note to me, or I guess vice versa since monster came out sooner.

ct

Light's VA went OFF in this finale! Was so much fun watching this with you guys and seeing you love it. I am so excited for FMAB next as I have never seen more than a few episodes, and hopefully, afterwards we get Vinland Saga! I would also love to see you guys watch another Ghibli film called Grave of the Fireflies? I know you didn't enjoy Spirited Away much but I think the tone of GotF is very different from SA :) Maybe you'd like Ghibli more now after seeing Aot and Death note! And honestly, whatever language you choose to view a show in is up to you. You should do things for your enjoyment not to please others as anyone watching along on Patreon can choose their own language anyway!

Katie Madsen

Hopefully u guys watch Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood in dub it's pretty good

Michael Aldana

I've been reading subtitles on tv since I was like 10 (I'm norwegian, so needed it when I was a kid), or maybe even earlier. So I barely have to glance at it to read now. Also have watched anime in sub since about 15. So safe to say sub is my preferred way to watch and it doesn't take away from me being able to see what's going on on the screen since I read so fast. BUT I would never say someone HAVE to watch sub if they will enjoy it more in dub. I have my preference and get to keep that no matter what someone else enjoys. And when watching here on patreon it literally matters 0 that you watch in dub since I have my own version. So pls go ahead and do what makes your experience the best! When it comes to the ending of DN, I have to second someone else who said they were an edgy teenager. I'm pretty sure I watched this when I was like 17, and I definitely wanted Light to win back then. I didn't really dislike the ending tho. I do find myself missing L in the second half, even tho Near and Mello are both fun to watch. Kind of would have liked to see Mello more in the end, to make his death more impactful. This was a really fun watch! So thank you for reacting to it! Now I can't wait to watch FMA Brotherhood which is definitely in my top 3 favorite animes! Let's go!

JiaHailstorm

Flower-in-The-Night

@jojo precisely. Dubs have gotten massively better over the years but ppl who don’t watch dub cling to the old stereotypes of dub voice acting being terrible lol I watch some animes in both dub and sub just to compare… and honestly it’s always been more enjoyable to me when watching in a language I can relate to and understand. So I don’t understand why the anime community acts like it’s some massive crime or like anime can’t be enjoyed unless it’s a sub version.

jahara daughtry

When I first watched Death Note, I didn't really like the ending that much. It felt out of character that Light would make such a mistake and not consider they switched BOTH notebooks. However, rewatching it now so many years later, I definitely can understand now why he lost. He was so cocky towards the end, all he could see was victory. He didn't take in every single possibility like he did with L and underestimated Near. I cannot wait for you guys to start FMAB next week!! The show has some of the most iconic Openings in all of anime, imo. Just know you guys are gonna love it! <33

Fairy_Chim95

Oh no! I wish I could put this off. Been on the Patreon since the start of your animation journey with Avatar and now no other shows are keeping me tethered here. It was a fantastic ride fellas!!! Thank you for the memories and see you on the tube!!

Scott Bringel

I expect to see a death note on that desk soon lol

Crispin

check and mate. such a satifying end.

Crispin

dubs are fine in general. there are very few animes that are better in sub but for the most part in popular shows id say dub is better because there is more to understand when its professionally transliterated and adapted in your natural language.

JOJO

on the contrary, dubs have gotten better in anime since this aired. Its always people who never watch dubbed always are the quickest to complain about it. Dubs are great nowadays.

JOJO

My boy Matsuda was hurting so much 😔 but what a hero! They always call Matsuda an idiot and he kinda became the joke of the team, but looking back, he is very very skilled technically. That handstand on the balcony? Iconic. And if you noticed, Matsuda is always the one 💥 poppin off in the task force because he’s a really good sharp shooter Thanks for reacting to this one! It’s my all time favourite series - the manga one-shot and books that are connected to the Death Note world are also really great! If you have some spare time, I’d recommend picking them up 🍎

Seven Seas

Like other people have said, absolutely try out Monster since you all liked Death Note so much, even if its watching it on your own. I think most viewers would understand that a reaction channel needs to prioritize more well-known shows to be profitable, which is why Monster might not fit for the channel (FMAB though, also a great show, will). But Monster is still an absolute masterpiece that everyone should see at least once and I hope you guys have a chance to check it out one day.

Killikat

This was an amazing reaction!! It was my first time watching Death Note too and those last three episodes had my jaw on the ground. Light definitely had it coming, it was very interesting to see his descent into madness. I just wish we got a bit more of Misa in the final moments.

Brooksie

I understand your points about Dub vs Sub versions, the issue is majority of Dubbed anime are not good at all, while the original Japanese VAs take it to the next level, Death Note is probably an exception to the rule, because the English dub was fantastic

Monaf

When I first watched this many years ago, I didn't like the ending. I was also an edgy teenager who wanted light to win lol. There are probably a lot of young people back then who had the same mentality as me affecting the reviews. As an adult with a more developed brain, I appreciated it a lot more and it was really the only way it could have ended, and they executed it perfectly. Loved the symbolism in the final episode. There were sooo many shots of factories/construction and industrialism in general which represents the building of a "new world" that will go on the exist without light. Also the final frame being a sunset and the moon, which represents the literal downfall of (sun)Light.

Nate

Hello, guys) Please, since u've finished Death Note, watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6uyZKk6Egk&t=914s . It's about differences between the anime and manga. Please, do reaction

DarynkaD

And pathetic

Vania Carmona

I had a great time re-watching Death Note with y'all. I personally enjoyed the finale and thought the ending was fitting for Light. Also, Oak, I completely understand wanting to watch in DUB. Some animes can be quite dialogue-heavy, and it would be better to watch in your original language.

FangKasai

If Light didn't have a MASSIVE EGO he would of won in episode 1.

Nick [ iNiKKo ]

Every time I rewatch this show, I try to watch Matsuda closely, especially his relationship with Chief Yagami. What a hero. Mikami did it himself. I believe it's because he realized his god is mortal.

LilithCain

Great reaction guys. You are OTAKUS NOW. It happens to all of us.

Vania Carmona

if the next anime is full metal alcemist brotherhood i think would be good to watch it in Dub us well because has a lot of info you will need to remember and because they have done a good job on the dub and i prefer it from the subs although i watch all my anime in sub

Vasileios Mitsos

This is the greatest reveal ever made: Matsuda was the main character this whole time

Eric

Agreed. AOT is a lot to take in and having to read subtitles every single sentence every episode can take away some excitement from the pure cinematic masterpiece that it was. AOT transcends past anime imo, it belongs with some of the greatest tv shows ever.

Zimm

Since you guys prefer Death Note to AOT, this anime needs to be on your guys next anime vote list: Monster (2004)

Zimm

omg what a joyride! im so happy you guys got so swept up in this and enjoyed it so much. cant wait for FMAB next week too!

GillyBean

Whole heartly agree on the Dub for reactions. But as far as dubs go in general since basically the late 90s era to today dub acting and overall production has improved that by the late 2010s to 2020s its basically hard to nail a bad dub on a dart board vs how in the 80s to early 00s it was way easier to hit a bad dub 50/50 or worse odds especially the 80s/early 90s. Arguing the sub is better is not the same as proving the dub is bad and is mostly a preference to your own opinion (funny you'll find most people enjoy what they know more sub or dub like most things with people).

PKKite

Remember it was noted that anyone who used the notebook would never see heaven or hell. Just pure nothingness

Really enjoyed your reaction to this series guys. On a rewatch, I actually felt I enjoyed the second half of the show more than I did before, but maybe that was because I already knew L's fate and it didn't affect me as much this go around. I think your opinions on Dub vs Sub are very valid. I think if you watched AOT in Dub, you would have preferred it to Death Note overall, but I think it is just a learning experience for first time anime watchers having to read subtitles and take in a show at the same time. I also think you shouldn't feel bad about watching Dub for the series' that you have coming up. Most of the shows that are recommended are popular enough to have solid Dub versions, especially FMAB which is next. If there was ever an exception, us viewers would be sure to let you know. Excited for FMAB next!

Sean

My Death Note Rating: 4.3/5 You don’t hear many viewers choose Death Note over Attack on Titan. Maybe part of it was the sub vs dub. Also, this story was more much digestible and tightly woven to just a few characters. For me: I think AOT clears Death Note and I don’t find it to be very close. I’ve watched probably 10-12 anime and Death Note falls in the lower half. There’s too many episodes in Death Note where characters are regurgitating the same info to us viewers. Still really enjoy this anime and the finale does stick the landing but after Ls death I lost some investment into the story/characters. Near and Mello were very random main characters to insert into a tv series with only 11 episodes to go.

Zimm

Loved the reaction to this series guys! I personally loved the ending. I believe the last 3 episodes are pretty universally loved by the fanbase, it’s just the Part 2 episodes leading up to the end that some people think are a bit too fast paced. As far as the sub vs. dub, this is a series that the dub is pretty universally preferred. Because there can be huge variation between the quality of each in anime, usually the audience can give you a pretty good idea what would be the most enjoyable experience, like we did here. Similarly for FMAB, the audience is split about 50/50 on sub vs. dub in the other reaction channels I’m in, but because both are quite good, nobody really cares which the reactors chooses, so dub is perfectly good there as well. These two shows and Cowboy Bebop are kinda the gold standard for dub though, so I hope in future anime’s if the audience does throw up big warning signs for a dub that you’ll be open to sub depending on the anime! Thanks again for the great reactions! 🔥

Kevin

Loved this journey we had with y’all! Light really lost his damn mind near the end. I personally liked the ending and I was surprised to hear people didn’t. I didn’t have many complaints with it. I think there’s a spin off manga (one shot) you guys could read on your own time if you want more death note. Another anime I would recommend you guys since you loved death note so much is erased or monster. Very similar in the cat and mouse aspect that Quinn seems to like so much!

ct

I absolutely love the ending to Death Note. I thought they did well at bringing things full circle and it was exactly what I wanted to happen to Light. Light usually was calm and collected for most of the show but towards the end you can see him becoming even more narcissistic and a little reckless. Light was always crazy ever since he got the Death Note and seeing him slowly lose his mind even more until he finally broke was very satisfying and fit the story perfectly in my opinion. From what I’ve seen, I think people have mixed opinions on the second half of the show after L passes away. Some ppl liked it, others didn’t as much. But overall, from what I’ve seen most ppl like this ending though. I think the ppl who didn’t, usually didn’t like it bc they wanted Light to succeed but I feel like this ending made perfect sense for his character and for the themes of the show.
