Just wondering if Ann told anyone what she found outside the city?

Jeremy Champlin

Ok wow, wild ass episode, i truly do not understand how everyone survived those injuries

Steven W

That episode was crazy... I didn't even have time to fully cry for the bow girl, that Ann got shot, then Kuina got stabbed.... I'm curious about how everyone can still "survive" after those fatal wounds. Are they really physically there? in this world? (I never finished second season, so i'm discovering in the same time as them!)

Rena Unnie

It was such a shocker to me when they announced season 3 lol. Can't wait to see yalls reaction to the FINALE!!!

Jeremiah Tarpley

Exactly! I agree with what DD said, the show pretty much established what kind of show it was gonna be right at S1 E1, with population disappearing within 5 seconds, having a protagonist with a photographic/eidetic memory, lasers coming down from above. I mean, it literally screams fantasy right off the bat, so you have to realize right away that realism and our understanding of physics aren't probably gonna be applied here. If you're gonna be skeptical about what's going on, then really that's entirely on you.

Bunnie

Just a reminder, the "impossible" moments will be explained in the final episode. Every "fatal" wound, there's a reason why certain characters have survived such deadly wounds, cannot wait for the finale and season 3 is on it's way.

TheMilkMan

This is my fave episode. I remember screaming at the tv when everyone was getting took out. The next episode, I had to sit down for half hr afterwards to process it all and the fact it had ended, I'm so excited for your guys reactions. Not too sure how I feel about a season 3 coming but I'm sure it will live up to it.

Chosos Wife

Bunnie, I think I know what you meant with the spoilery part :) What Niragi “did” in this world can really be interpreted in a whole different way after the final reveal.

WHY

Very interesting point and perspective there about the never-ending cycle of violence 👏🏻 Yes, Niragi’s story is not only there to invite hatred from people, but also a reflection of the society with the hate crime culture.

WHY

Got to appreciate how this show portrays every main female character as a strong woman who endures, persists, and fights all the way through to survive and protect each other.

WHY

I love that part where Aguni finally finds closure & peace. Everytime Hatter appeared previously in Aguni’s hallucination/imagination, Aguni would think that Hatter wanted him to die. Finally in this episode, Aguni imagines Hatter apologising to him and understands that Hatter would actually want him to live.

WHY

I might be stretching it a bit here, but the way I interpret (without context from the manga) Aguni’s last words to the King of Spades before Aguni mercy killing him is: Not only was he trying to tell the King he personally had nothing against him even though he had to kill him to end the game (just like the King had to kill the enemy in the war, if that’s indeed his enemy), but combined with Aguni’s hallucination of Hatter later, I almost thought there’s maybe a parallel comparison with Aguni’s memory with Hatter, like even though Aguni killed/had to kill Hatter at that point, he really personally had nothing against Hatter as his friend; this was the only way Aguni could think of to save Hatter from his madness and insanity (just like the King had nothing against his comrades-in-arm but had to mercy kill him to save him from suffering anymore, if that’s indeed his comrades as opposed to enemy).

WHY

The King of Spade’s basically mercy killing everyone to stop them from suffering/ having to play all these sick games in this world. Contrast that to the beginning of the episode where it intentionally shows how Niragi didn’t want to help the guy to end his life but wanted him to continue to suffer. I guess Niragi’s scene is not only there to disgust the audience and make us hate this character more, but it’s also there to give a big contrast to the actions of the King of Spades.

WHY

The best action choreography I’ve ever seen from a show.

WHY

yeah without the context of the finale, the way everyone is still breathing and moving in this episode makes no sense lol every one of them should be dead, but with that being said the finale explains and justifies it all, I'm looking forward to it

Maddie Ash

I mean explaining it by "In this world" is definitely not wrong 👀 Those brutal action scene will make much more sense once you see the final episode !! This is very like a typical manga scene but I feel like it's way more "realistic" after the reveals in the last episode

Roxane

yeah. what if its all new. im still down for that, hope they dont fk it up

XXI

yes, i like the writing for the Spade king and his message/mentality. Also how Aguni responded. How Aguni and Niragi are also conveyed as. damn good writing

XXI

for sure. i think this was more brutal than in the manga.

XXI

"he's a gaddamn Terminator" - Dave 2025 🫡

XXI

I am really happy that I am not the only one who feels like that. Overall I liked the show very much but some things just wasn't for me. But once again that doesn't mean that the show is not good

Josip Buretić

This was definitely an episode that reminded you that this is based on a shonen Manga, lol. The dramatic last words, et.al., after the point where someone should be dead are pretty standard fair. Also people surviving what should be mortal wounds. We have stuff like that too in Western media, but maybe not as 'over the top' (to use the term BM did in the reaction). But maybe to the original audience it's not over the top? Idk, but I'm curious and happy to learn if anyone here is and could speak on it from a cultural perspective. Regardless: I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. I haven't had time to read Manga or watch anime in years, and this made me really nostalgic for it. Have to start making time to get back into it.

Bluhawke

Great reaction! I can't wait for next week and hear what you think about all the near deaths in this episode again and Niragi. It was a debate. Also, we were not aware of season 3 because the Manga ended in season 2. So we were surprised when season 3 was announced months after season 2 ended.

Mari

That was my assumption when I watched it, even without having read the Manga. Made total sense to me that he would be thinking he was being merciful, even without showing how he treated the bodies. I don't think I would have thought he was caught in the flash back if the guys hadn't said it.

Bluhawke

Of course! I would've liked to know on my first watch too, I only read the manga after because I was curious. This is one of my favourite info given only from the manga. Hope Badd Medicine sees this, so they can understand the King more ^^

Xiao

I have a lot of thoughts in regard to Oak’s concerns about the episode. However I can’t say any of them until you have seen the next episode. So catch me in the comment section next week ✌🏻😂

BlueJean452

Thanks for this info! Very interesting

Katie

not a single person should of survived lol except maybe Usagi

Katie

The best reaction guys. My favorite one by far. The shock that I felt the first time I watched this episode... I don't blame DD for taking his headphones off during it. Pretty sure my jaw dropped and stayed on the floor until the episode was over. Still feels like a gut punch knowing what is gonna happen but somehow still being unprepared for it. Also, 'cool guys don't look at explosions', Ann and Kuina both knew that. Here I am, the most excited for next week I have ever been. Is it cheesy to say the last episode is my absolute favorite? Because it is. And no, there was no talk of a third season until long after season two had wrapped up. I will have plenty to say after the next episode about that.

Wonderxfull

yes, the whole Niragi thing! Same. Agreed, yes i'm still a fan of the show but it does start to feel a bit silly at times.

Jessie

The flood and the tiger were moments that got to me too (followed by Niragi's inexplicable durability during The Witch chapter). But those events primed me to suspend my disbelief a bit more for season two, especially once Niragi came back *again*. By the back of end season two I wasn't surprised by the stuff Oak mentioned, but I still agree with Oak. But also like him, I still enjoyed the episode a lot.

R

I knowww I wish they kept it! They did well showing all the face cards' humanity (well, with the exception of Enji the Jack of Hearts), I would've loved it if they also showed the King of Spades story as well. Especially the graveyard, would've been so jaw-dropping to see

Xiao

There's a sequel manga. My understanding is that originally they didn't plan to adapt it, but the show was so successful that Netflix decided to give it a try.

R

After Alice in Borderlands manga, Haro Aso also published Alice in Borderlands - Retry. But I don't know if the manga sequel will be the source material of season 3

Fajar Kurniawan

What I like about that moment is that both things can be true: he was definitely talking to Aguni, but in a way also talking to the dude in his memories.

R

that's actually so interesting omg! I wish they included that in the show!

LailaS

looove this show but this was my least favorite episode because I definitely agree they shouldn't have been moving after all that🤣🤣

LailaS

Very well said. Regarding Nigari, understandably a lot of people who have watched this show, I'm sure wanted him not to make it. But as Chisiya so clearly pointed out to King of Diamond, it is not our decision to put a value on someone's life, it's not our decision who can live or who can die. I think the writers left Nigari to live in the show to teach us a lesson as well, we as the viewers. I will point it out more after the finale since it's a spoilery.

Bunnie

This episode was brutal, when I watched it for the first time, I had to take a loooong break to calm down lol But this is also episode that makes a lot of sense after seeing the finale, so I hope that BM will appreciate EP7 more in retrospective. BM's reaction was priceless lol Mason's analysis was so on point. I like the difference between Niragi and Aguni's morale. "I never once hated you" to King of Spades is such strong message to take in and reflect on our own behavior towards other people. Niragi is consumed with hatred, that's all he knew all his life and he sees kindness as a weakness; and while Aguni lost a close friend in Mad Hatter, he had something positive in his life so in the end he was able to forgive himself and Niragi never searched for forgiveness in the first place, accepting that he turned into what his bullies represented. I've seen so many reactions where people just don't get Niragi's story and simply hate him (understandably so, of course), but there's great nuances and he isn't your typical villain, he's a walking symbol of neverending cycle of violence. Hate not Niragi, but the society that turned him into continuation of hate crime culture which goes after everyone who's "weak" and "different". Niragi objectively is a bad person and deserves punishment, but hating him doesn't bring anything good to your own humanity. Imagine if somebody said even once to Niragi (when he was younger and not turned into bully yet) that he wasn't hated or despised, it would have left big impression on Niragi's psychic. For Aguni killing King of Spades was a necessity, for King of Spades killing players was only merciful way to end their sufferings (in manga he even buries their bodies after killings), for Niragi NOT killing a poor guy with a botched suicide try was absolutely out of hatred and classic bully's behavior - to inflict suffering just for the sake of it. Chishiya saving Usagi was the full circle completing (Usagi saving Arisu from depression > Arisu saving a guy on the bus > the guy saving Kuzuryu [King of Diamond] > Kuzuryu saving Chishiya > Chishiya saving Usagi). Great writing. Ayumi Tanida as King of Spades was brilliant, and the whole cast as well - probably the most impressive choreography I've seen in TV series. And finally, I have to admit that while EP7 was hella awesome (in terms of quality), the finale had a GREAT message and still is TOP-3 of greatest conclusions to TV season of any show (other two are Dark and Mad Men). The finale of S2 made AIB a masterpiece for me. I hope that BM will enjoy it the same as we did and we will impatiently await for S3 to come in September!

Dylan Hearts

lol the most anime vibes ever

Jessie

I know Oak may get some flack but i get what he's saying. Even as a fantasy, it was still following basic rules of physics and anatomy in early episodes. For me, it first jumped the shark back in season 1 ep 4 when they out-ran the flood, and from there got more and more silly(punching tigers). I love this show, but i recognize that as it got less grounded in reality, the deaths and emotional moments did start to feel less impactful.

Jessie

AWESOME REACTION GUYS!! So excited for next week!!

Alexandra

Oh man THIS is the episode I've been waiting for ever since you guys first started watching this show, I'm so hyped!

Essi Love

hooooly shit everytime I watch this episode I forget how INSANELY good it is, ur reaction did not disappoint whatsoever, im devastated the finale is next week what am I gonna do now until s3😭😭 however, I am sooo looking forward to ur reaction to it EEEE

Lucy

This episode is the "this is for sure based on a manga" one lol

Alyssa Dyson

I can't believe we're at the end next week! I enjoy seeing reactions to this show and the discussions it sparks.

Jess

The King of Spades actually was talking to Aguni when he said he wanted to save them (maybe the guy he killed as well, but he was also speaking to Aguni)! That flashback wasn't from a game, it was from a war (he used to be in the military- mirroring Aguni). He was killing someone who was on the other side of the war. In the manga, it showed the King actually burying all of the players he killed in a large graveyard. I would've liked the show to show his reasoning more, but basically the King believed that he was "saving" all of the players from the torture of the games by giving them a "fast" death. Not justifiable ofc but he was broken from the games. Can't wait for you guys to watch the finale, and eventually the third season ^^

Xiao

Chefs kiss reaction!! Can’t wait for next weeks already 🥲

Elizabeth Lopez

This reaction did NOT disappoint 😁

Una Katrina

this episode was INSANEEEE, can’t wait for the episode finale reaction 🔥🔥🔥

maiya

Y'all r not ready for the finale 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Michael Aldana

I knew you guys (specially DD lol) will rage. I think that's pretty much the consensus of everyone watching at that time haha. But man is it a fantastic episode! On the final episode, please please discuss what do you all think each of you's card specialist is, what game/s do you think you might survive in, etc.

Bunnie

Regarding your question about season 3, I don' think they knew, season 2 ending covers the manga ending to the story as far as I know, so we really dont know what season 3 will be about.

Monaf

It's already monday in finland but I have to sacrifice my sleep tonight for this😌
