It’s also not verging on that territory by simply expressing personal opinion on season 2 or saying how good season 2 ended. I wasn’t saying anything in substance or revealing any plots/contents like some other people did here. Just like when people recommended this show to them, people were already all commenting on how good the show is/ how good season 2 is or even better right from the beginning, literally like in the first episode of season 1. But that shouldn’t affect how they form their own personal opinions on this show. After they’ve watched season 1 and rated it as 5/5, they’ve also already formed their opinions on the show (at least the first part of it); and I believe even without this discussion, they will come to season 2 with at least some expectations. Yet, it doesn’t necessarily mean one single opinion will/can direct how they view the season or even affect their personal opinions. We all want them to maximise their viewing experience and I definitely agree that we should all be careful not spilling out spoilers. But to say this discussion is verging on that territory or could even affect how they view the season is too far-stretched. I’m sure they can all form their own opinions irrespective of how others view the season.

2025-01-06 02:56:26 +0000 UTCI love this show, which by now you fully understand why. They have done such an awesome job of doing season one and season two keeps up and then some. My favorite characters - minus the main cast that survived- are in season two, I can't wait to get to them and for you all to meet them! When I first saw Mira show up at the end I did not realize she was at the beach at all and felt like there was no way to predict anything in this show aside from guessing wild things like Chishiya saying maybe its Aliens or God.. Loving the backrooms idea haha. Waiting for season two sucked, the theories were wild. I remember obsessively checking Netflix for the release date every couple of months to make sure I didn't miss it when it finally came out. Love Aguni, what a guy. His breakdown never fails to make me emotional. Hatter not having a loaded gun says to me that he was tired and wanted out but also he was a little crazy.. So maybe wanting out to the degree of dying wasn't entirely a surface thought.. he seemed a bit off when he monologued before pointing his gun at his best friend. And we know that Aguni has some kind of cop or military background from a comment made by Hatter a episode or so ago- Aguni was gonna have a knee-jerk reaction and instantly shoot Hatter due to his training and Hatter knew that.. Aguni didn't have a second to think he just reacted, you can see it in his face after he shoots. The disbelief, shock and horror. He is such a good actor, I love him. Niragi, "Mr. Invincible" lol, yeah box of crazy. Everyone coulda done with out him making things worse all the time. I feel bad for Aguni for attempting to reign him in.. and if what we've seen Niragi do while "reigned in" I don't wanna know what he would have done if Aguni wasn't there to keep him in check. Man I can't wait for next season, you all will love it.

His brother is younger than him too (I think he was older in the TV series) and is the model student. Arisu is basically ignored by his father to the point Arisu feels invisible.

But it was just a standard example of how they shouldn't take the games at face value. The answer for survival was given to them with the first "fortune" Karube pulled. They were so focused on getting the numerical answers to their own "fortune" questions, they didn't bother to wonder why Karube didn't have to answer one.

The Cheshire Cat looks like chaotic neutral personified so sometimes you love them and sometimes you hate them--the only thing you can be sure of is that they are always on their own side. The character is known for looking at things in a 'weird' perspective (Chishiya is almost always framed/placed oddly or looking down over a situation). Some gripe about the lack of manic grin, but I think they miss the point of the expression--it's a way of showing the character knows something you don't (and is enjoying that fact), so the actor's look of superiority works perfectly, for me. With the subway map--did y'all never watch Hunchback of Notre Dame (Disney movie)? 🤣 They had a necklace that was actually a map of the city with a marker to a hidden location, and it worked basically the same way--looks like nothing without context. Now, I'm not from a place with a subway either, but the network of lines only made sense as roads or tracks.

Everyone, myself included, got so excited to see at the end, the banner announcing s2 wasn't far off....then covid delayed it and we had to wait 2 years. Now, s3 will be sometime this year, but most likely another December release like the first two seasons! So, as I said in a previous comment, I immediately called the witch because what greater plot twist then what we ended up having? I absolutely loved the finale and was taken by surprise about the game master reveal and everything else. So much is going on that you don't realize the Mira is MIA after the witch hunt starts. Then to see her plastered on the screens at the end, truly amazing! Mira is one of my favorites. Cannot wait until you guys get to s2!

But if our earthly protagonists suddenly teleported to a zombie outbreak on an alien planet, we definitely would need an explanation for why they are in that alien world.

Also just to say, some things are not going to make sense in some cases as you go and it's good to question your instincts and scratch your head. It all adds to the brilliance of it. This show does so well at racking at the brain, making you question things based on what you know in life etc. but in the end, everything will make sense. All the strange and questionable phenomenons will click if you give yourself time to go over and recollect some of the things.

There’re lots of online discussions on the very last scene as to its meaning in the show vs how it’s done in the manga. Curious to see where s3 goes and if Netflix can do a great job without the original source now.

2025-01-05 21:53:59 +0000 UTCThe thing to keep in mind throughout season 2, is that WAS supposed to be the final season. Where season 2 ends, is where the manga it’s based off of ends. So all throughout season 2, especially as you get further in and towards the end, it has very strong ‘final season’ vibes. It actually came as a shock to fans when a third season was announced recently, because everyone just assumed season 2 was the end since, again, that’s the end for the source material.

Ithe amount was in relation to the answer to the question. Like one time they had 400 shot at them because it was the correct answer but they said like 10. I'm sure I'm not making sense but the TV series game was much easier to understand. Shibuki did compete in that game with them tho.

Not only did he pretend that he’s injured so that he could stay on the bus, he has also not reminded anything or given any hints to the other players. Because as revealed in the final episode of s1, the dealers themselves sometimes have to play the games too; only if the dealer wins and the players lose then the dealers could earn visa days themselves; If the dealer lose the game or lose on the bet, they’ll get killed too.

The show didn’t make it that clear though, don’t know why, maybe just so when he appears again in the last episode that would be a big surprise to the audience. As much as this show has exaggerated scenes, they all make perfect sense at the end of the series.

You’ve got the most thorough commentaries among all the reactors I’ve seen - all of you were picking up bits and pieces of the show analysing the details and appreciating the specific scenes/shots out there. I especially appreciate you picked up the scene where the military guy couldn’t die due to empty gun and he had to live with guilt cuz not many reactors picked up that scene. I agree that it’s a really powerful scene. Also, the fact that Hatter purposefully pointed his gun without any bullet towards Aguni, almost wanting Aguni to shoot him, shows that he himself did actually realise that he’s gone too far and become crazy that he wanted Aguni as his friend to kill him and end his craziness. Or, as you said, Hatter might be testing Aguni too. The twist about Hatter/Aguni’s relationship is what makes this episode and the story so good. What makes the writing of this show so great and beautiful is sometimes not the answer itself, but as you said indeed the structure of the answer (like an essay in a test) and how you get to the answer. Just one point to add: even though I didn’t read the manga, I think others who’ve read it has confirmed that Niragi actually fell into the pool, that’s why he didn’t die from the burn and fall.

The cinematography in s2 is sick and all the games are on a whole different level! You’ll get the answers to everything in season 2. It’s got the perfect ending with explanations on why they’re there, how they get there, why they have to play the games. Even the “unrealistic” scenes become realistic and make sense at the end. While season 1 leaves you more questions than answers, season 2 carries a concept and theme they’ll throw you bits by bits each episode.

We waited and waited and waited. It basically took 2-3 to come out with Season 2. The wait was just sooooo long but I needed to know what was going to happen. This show just really sucks you right in and makes you cry. The same can be said for Season 2. I can't wait for you to watch Season 2.

2025-01-05 19:53:58 +0000 UTCLove how they unpack Aguni's character in this episode (aa-goo-ni - sounds similar to agony; btw a lot of the main cast have names related to alice in borderlands, like Arisu is "Alice" because there is no 'L' in Japanese written language). Before this episode he comes off as just a thuggish character with no brains, but you see that he is actually a very emotionally complex character and it completely changed my perspective of him. Also, yes Arisu in this episode basically is admitting that there was most likely a "Solution" to the 7 of hearts game where all of him and his friends could survive. This sparked many theories online about how they could survive and how the solution to their game was in the riddle of the games description. Don't go looking it up until you finish the series though because a lot of theory video's on youtube have spoilers for later games that happen in season 2.

2025-01-05 19:41:01 +0000 UTCOn the subject of The Walking Dead: The show kind of became it's own animal, especially after Kirkman disassociated with it in later seasons, but it never bothered me there wasn't an explanation for the outbreak. Theres this entire forward at the start of the comic that the story isn't really about zombies, it's about how people react in situations like what theyre in. Zombies are just the catalyst for the situation to begin. I can't recall if he'd put it in the Letter Hacks section of the comics but I know Kirkman said he'd never answer how the outbreak started. It wasn't an aspect he cared about or interested him to cover. Mostly because his story was never about that, but about humanity. I enjoyed the series up until Rick left but stopped watching at S11. Love the comic tho and reread the entire series once a year.

They never actually confirm/clarify this in the show, but in the manga it's revealed that the "injured" player on the bus is actually a dealer pretending to be injured so that he can stay on the bus. Basically you could consider it a "team" game (clubs) because you win the game by not abandoning your injured teammate and staying on the bus with him instead. Leaving him behind takes you further away from the "goal" (the bus). Knowing this detail makes me appreciate the game a lot more than I did initially. Anyway, onto season 2! When I watched season 1, season 2 wasn't out yet, and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next, so I read the manga to finish the story. I loved it and was nervous about how they would adapt it for Netflix (source material is always better, as I'm sure you know), but I was thrilled with how season 2 came out, not disappointed at all. I'm very excited for you guys to watch it!!
