I get that but I thought he was a lot of fun and great in "The Fall Guy"

Ryan Towell

I think he has potential but it has never been exploted or guided in a way take makes him realize he has it

Nice! I am from Saratoga which is about 30m from schenectady. I am a videographer and filmed many weddings in the same church that they were in.

Agreed! When I first watched this years ago, I was initially thrown off by the unconventional plot flow (which in 2024 really isn’t that big of a deal now with everything that’s come out over the past decade or so), and the way all the characters were played vs my expectations for each. Over the years it’s only gotten better with rewatches because I’ve grown to appreciate all the subtleties and tension built up when framing modern crime stories like this. Would be curious to see them react to the Safdie Brothers especially, like Good Time (underrated imo) and of course, Uncut Gems if they haven’t already seen it themselves!

I don't care what anyone says. This is one of the best crime dramas of the 21st century. Certainly one of the most underrated ones as well. It's wild to me that there are people out there that absolutely hate this movie or are just Luke warm on it. I think the three story structure just turns people off or something. But upon multiple watches this movie gets better and better because you full understand the significance of the earlier moments that seem somewhat insignificant the first time around. This is like if the Sadie Brothers, Damien Chazelle, and Shakespeare all made a modern crime drama together. Derek Cianfrance is a master of tension and subtext. Just so so so under appreciated. So stoked that you guys watched this thank you!!

I agree. I almost didn’t watch Barbie (a movie I was excited for) because he was in it 🫠

I dont mind him,but i always feel like he gets put in roles to just be a attractive face and not say anything. So many movies he is just broodingly staring and grunting/sighing. Not a terrible actor, but not very good. It works in some scenes and movies..but it can be tiring

Matthew Glover

I can’t stand Ryan Gosling so I’ll be skipping this one 😬

Same experience here. Completely blurred out movie...and no sound until when Arudorin said.

Thanks!

I'm just going to chime in. I checked the full-length uncut link. The blurring starts at 1:14 and ends at 9:40, and everything is fine after 9:41.

Arudorin

If it happens again, let us know 😁🤙

I clicked on the uncut version. It was just the first ten minutes of the movie. It was blurry with no sound for some reason but then it worked fine for the rest of the movie. Not sure why. No worries. I was just curious as to why. Thanks for the reaction!

Megan Schnese

Hello. Currently, I'm not seeing the uncut version blurry. Which hyper link did you select?

Badd Medicine

Is there a reason why the uncut version of the film is blurry? When I've watched your other uncut reactions, the film was clear and visible. Also, this is such an interesting movie with a three act structure that's so fascinating. I have to recommend the movie Atonement (2007) again since that's a movie with a really interesting three act structure also. I would love it if you could add it to your list. You guys wont regret checking it out!

Megan Schnese

Ive only watched it once....didnt seem like a more than once movie but I may watch it again with these guys.

Love that you guys enjoyed this movie! One of my favorites that I first watched with my Dad (who is from Schenectady) and my brother. I think Oak nails the ambiguity of good and bad on the head. The scene with Ryan and Eva in bed and then going to get ice cream is so emotional and nostalgic to me. And throughout the movie you see the same musical theme play from that moment during other moments when characters find temporary happiness. I think the movie really highlights the beauty of those fleeting moments with friends, family, and strangers. I would just disagree with Mason Quinn by describing their realistic interactions as "deadpan", idk if that is exactly what he meant, but Eva's acting during the scene in bed with Ryan and at the ice cream shop shows so much love and mixed feeling. My favorite performance of the entire movie. Thanks for doing this one!

Really? I find that it gets so much better on rewatches actually. Also I have recommended it to friends and they were kind of like warm on it at first but then loved it after a second watch.

shaneth138

Hell yeah! This movie is so underrated.

shaneth138

This movie was good...very well thought out...a good writer behind it you would think it was a novel.... It was bleak and a bit slow but besides that you got so much. I enjoyed it but its not a movie I would think of watching more than once.
