2024-11-02 04:11:32 +0000 UTCOn Saturday I tried watching your uncut version with the picture in picture, I thought it was cool to have the possibility to do that as for some movies I don't really care about seeing them on a large screen... and I thought finally I'll see this movie that has some sort of cult following... but I fell asleep about 45 min in and woke up at the end of your review, so I went back and I fell asleep AGAIN at 1 hour and woke up when Mason was giving his rating 😂 So I gave up lol. I'll have to finish with the watchalong version now. Maybe I'll wait for the cut down. I'm confused not only about the film's popularity but also why Patrons voted for it 😭

It's a movie about a powerful girl who gets her revenge on the men who wronged her, even if not directly. these men literally sacrificed her body for their own professional gain, and in turn her body becomes the power that ends up killing them!! when you look at the movie that way, its a fucking cult classic masterpiece. I think generally when a movie doesn't make sense you to, you're not the target audience. I love your videos but I do think sometimes there is a lack of consideration for female perspectives in movies/shows

Like this you always have bad sound from your audio and even if u sync it perfectly its still noticable and quite annoying, if u start doing this I hope you will keep uploading watch along style beside it because like this I just cant bring myself to watch it.

The whole succubus thing isn't something that's done very often at all so it's interesting when it comes up. Btw, school libraries definitely have occult sections in them, but naturally they don't have too much in them. Books on the history of voodoo or witchcraft in the west, eastern magical practices, alchemy, etc etc. I read a number of them growing up. They were always in the 100s in the Dewey Decimal system but if I found more than a dozen books on the topic that would have been surprising.

That being said I didn’t vote for it in the poll cause I didn’t think you guys would enjoy it. I hope you guys still watch Abigail. I definitely think you will enjoy it more. Also love the new watch format. It makes it so much easier for me to watch when I don’t need two devices.

To the point that it's become one of my favorite movies, and it has all the makings to become a cult classic. I actually think ya'll would really enjoy it.

This movie has actually developed it's own cult following and has found more appreciation now, then it's initial release. Part of that has to do with the marketing, Diamond Dave is right in that they focused more on the kissing scene and marketed it more towards men, when really this is a film that should have been marketed towards women. It's following is primarily made up of women and I've seen videos and read articles that do a deeper dive into the themes and its use of metaphors about women, bringing up its focus on female objectification and exploitation. I also just discovered the song Jennifer's Body by Hole, and I see where some of the inspo came from.

The comedy came off as cringe at times and there wasn’t any horror to it at all for me. I gave it a 2.5 because it did have its moments at times but other than that it had a hard time keeping my attention

Also I really liked the synopsis the Diamond Dave would write about the movies when they posted. I get they might be a bit of work on top of shooting and editing so I can understand if we are just dropping that from now on, but I appreciated it.
