I don't understand what the big deal is with the bite, and why doesn't Darryl tell them they are already all infected? When they get bit, they don't get infected from the bite and turn. They die because of the massive unsanitary nature of decomposing corpses biting them. So him surviving a bite isn't him being immune to infection it would be something else. Now you could say that they don't know this, but when Madame Du Bois died and others died it was very clear they knew they would turn, which means they knew they're already infected.
