EARLY ACCESS: Band of Brothers episode 8 FULL REACTION

From Stephen Ambrose's book, Webster was actually warmly welcomed back as opposed to the portrayal here. I think they just wanted to put this "perspective" that they did with Webster. A lot of Ambrose's source come from his memoir. What's funny is on rewatching these episodes, characters like Roe and Webster become much more noticeable, like Roe getting upset at Harry Welsh and Winters when Moose was shot. In the earlier episodes in the series, Webster was the guy who gave chocolates to kid, and also went to find Sgt Randleman, and the one who said "They got me. Can you believe I said that?" In this episode, at the 54 min mark, or 6 min left mark on Netflix, you can actually see Cobb being picked up by a few MPs and put on a jeep. This was for his court martial on being drunk and assaulting an officer, like what an earlier commenter said here.

A little innacurate with the protrayol of how webster was treated, guys poked fun at him but he was in a hospital in egland , there would be no way to break out and join them since they already left england and werent going back. Webster was a d day and market garden vet there is no way he would be treated like a replacement after expereincing those hells

Oh also, I believe that on this last patrol that Ronald Speirs was actually present and on the mission as well. And if I’m remembering my reading correctly, I believe he actually was shot and ended up going out to work missions the very next day. Just another bit of information that you don’t really get from the show that contributes to the absolute legend that is Speirs.

Dead people is apparently entertainment on this channel

No spoilers but, just...prepare the tissues for next episode. I've seen it a thousand times but that episode still gets to me and probably always will.

I'm looking forward to that. It's a step down from Band of Brothers, IMO, but it has some terrific performances. And it was my introduction to two actors I really enjoy, who I won't mention by name because I want the guys to be surprised when they pop up, but one has since won an Oscar and the other is... well, it's a guy I know the guys are gonna pop for in a BIG way when he shows up.

I got to say having Peaky Blinders and Band of Brothers episode reactions every week for the last couple of months has been pretty gnarly! Lol. Both of these series are absolutely top-tier. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Will you guys be watching the unofficial “11th episode”? Or “bonus episode”? It’s entitled “We Stand Alone. Together”. Which is actually what “currahee” translates to. You will meet a lot of the men you’ve watched in this series and no band of Brothers reaction is complete without watching it. It’s available on MAX.

So David Webster’s story is particularly fascinating. He has one of the better books about easy Company. His written memoir entitled “parachute infantry”. Webster attended Harvard. Being in college could exempt men from service until graduation, but this depended on their major. David Webster actually volunteered to be on the infantry when he could’ve picked a much cozier position seeing as he was a college student. He wanted to have a firsthand account of the soldiers battle on the frontline. He is truly amazing.

I can’t imagine what it must have been like for soldiers in WW2. As well as medics and anyone bringing supplies in, etc. How scared I’m sure they were.

It's on the list but not immediately following. 🤙

Really looking forward to them watching that one. It's one of the most powerful episodes of TV ever made. The big thing that happens in it is something my grandfather apparently experienced first-hand during his WW2 service.

Eion Bailey (Webster) is a really good actor, and my brother and I have always joked about whether he sits at home cursing out Paul Rudd for stealing his career since they both had their big breaks (not including Clueless for Rudd, since he didn't become a star until years later) around the same time. Oh by the way: for any Ted Lasso fans out there, if you're not aware, the mail guy who asks to go on the patrol is played by Keiran O'Brien, who played Jamie Tartt's dad.

prepare the tissues for the next episode

I may have missed it but are we doing The Pacific once Band of Brothers has wrapped?

Mad men for sure!

Lt Jones Stayed in Germany after the war he died from wounds due to an veh auto accident in Berlin where he was stationed. He was a Capt at the time of his death. As for Cobb i read that everyone agreed he was a good soldier, when he wasn't drinking. Some of the guys said that he was ok, unless there was booze around which he seemed to find often. He had some legal issues during his stint in Haguenau the big one being the prisoner left on the river bank. Webster was worried the wounded German soldier would give away their outpost position, so he and another paratrooper tried throwing grenades at him, both missing. Cobb threw one and killed him instantly, shortly after that he was arrested and nearly executed on the spot for assaulting Lt Foley is platoon commander while drunk. after the patrol incident of his boat flipping them over into the river. Sgt. Martin actually pulled his pistol and pointed it at Cobb. Court Martial papers were submitted and Colonel Sink told Foley he would have saved them all a bunch of trouble had Martin just shot Cobb. But with all that he was allowed to stay and discharged after V-E Day. He died in 1990 but interesting thing about him was that he was in the Army like 9 years prior to joining the parachute Infantry. he took part in assault landing in Africa, he survived a torpedo attack that sank his troop ship. Oh and on D Day his plane got hit and Cobb got hit but recovered and rejoined the unit. And with all that experience and medals he received he stayed a private the entire time.

Please consider Mad Men or Outlander for a future show watch. Both are amazing and I would love to see your reactions ❤️
