Belive it or not, but I stopped watching AoT after this episode after watching the first 3 seasons on and off earlier this year. Not bc I don't like the show tho, but 1: because these eps were kind of slow. 2: It sometimes happens with me and shows in general. I always meant to come back and finish it before you got this far. Well, after watching your reaction to this ep two days ago I am now almost completely finished with the show. So thanks for kicking my ass to get back into the show! if you think back to whenever Reiner and Bertholt's reveal took place, Reiner's arm was "injured", and only began healing whenever he revealed who he was and transformed. So yeah, i guess Eren can stop / start healing as he pleases.

In freaking January, and we are almost at the end of the series now, yet comments about dubbing are almost under every episode. Everyone knows they will not switch now, yet whining continues instead of mentioning plot or anything more useful. As someone who has watched it in both sub and dub, I doubt these guys would’ve been able to engage with it as well if they tried the dub. Not all dubs are created equal, as some have VAs that do wonderful work(MHA is a good example imo), but AOT’s dub suffers a lot from their cast.

Ignore the dumb comment before. Ive watched AOT in Japanese, English, and German (I can speak German as well) and in every watching I enjoyed the show to its fullest. The dubs for this show are amazing, but I can also understand the need to see the show in the original language. The animation was done with the Japanese language in mind and there are definitely moments where it just hits differently in Japanese. Keeping that in mind I am also someone who will pause and re-read everything to make sure I get it all, and as a reaction channel they cant really do that in a convenient way. So far I feel like they have enjoyed it in Japanese even if they might miss something here and there and I think they should stick with it, but this show needs a re watch anyways and they can do that in English. That all said, I have one complaint about the English dub and its how Erin's titan sounds :_(

The issue is not in what's better mate. Its about how you phrased your comment and its about disrupting the show with constant begging for them to switch to dub. BM made their decision in January, literally 8 months ago, and begging doesn't stop. This intro music is my favorite. It has the same hype as early seasons, but tuned for an opposite effect. The violins giving a eerie feeling with the visuals really makes it feel less heroic than I felt in s1, which matches the story. Then toward the middle its like 2 tracks laid on top of each other, almost like opposing forces in a war. Then its just straight fire as well, man, I love it.

Nope, that's the opinion of someone who has been watching anime almost all his life and has seen how the weebs behave personally. Don't believe me? I challenge you to go back through every single AOT reaction that they've done outside of the first handful of episodes and count all the comments telling them they need to watch it in English. Then I challenge you to look at just the last few episodes from season 3 where they watched the English dub and count how many people are insisting they need to watch it in Japanese or complaining about it. I would bet dollars to donuts that you'd find as many people complaining about the English dub in just those three episodes as you'd find people complaining about the Japanese throughout the whole series. That makes it clear that the people who are rabid and oppressive are the weeb subbed fans. They aren't content to just watch their favorite version, they want to insist that everyone else needs to watch it too.

Words could not express how excited I would be if you guys started watching this in English here at the end, but I know that won't be the case so I definitely recommend you watch it in English on your own time DD. I'm not sure if this was mentioned before but the armbands for Eldians have different colors signifying their 'status'. Grey armband is a typical Eldian citizen, yellow is for someone who is a warrior in training (like Falco and Gabi), and red is for someone who is a warrior Titan like Reiner where they become honorary Marleyans. Their direct family also gets the armbands, so when you see Dr. Yeager with the red armband you know he's Zeke (and Eren's) grandfather.

The guy Eren was talking to in the mental hospital was his grandfather. Also given that Eren has access to his dad's memories he knew that he was talking to his grandfather. Of course his grandfather didn't know it because he has never met Eren. This is on top of the fact that he had a mental breakdown over losing not only his daughter at an early age but later on his son Grisha. Also Willie Tybur and Theo Magath are essentially plotting to take over the nation. It was hinted at in this episode by Theo that it is in fact the Tybur family, they are Eldian nobles that side against King Fritz, who are pulling the strings in the nation of Marley behind the scenes. In fact, Willie says to Theo, "Congratulations, the military is now yours" after he hands him a book. A book that one can only presume to be filled with the names of high ranking military officials. Anyway, everything will be answered in due time.

The doctor/ patients name is Jaegar, just like Eren. It’s because that is Grisha Jaegars dad. Erens dad was a doctor as well. So basically he was a doctor when Grisha Jaegar was young, but now he’s a patient, because he went crazy. He pointed out how he regreted allowing his son and daughter to go to the blimp sight which resulted in grisha hating him and his daughter getting eaten by dogs. He’s grishas dad from the books they found in the basement, i think last 3 episodes of season 3

If you guys can recall from season 2, titan healing can be controlled. In Season 2's episode called Warrior, Reiner didn't allow the wound on his arm to heal until he decided to blow his cover and try and take Eren.

if you think back to whenever Reiner and Bertholt's reveal took place, Reiner's arm was "injured", and only began healing whenever he revealed who he was and transformed. So yeah, i guess Eren can stop / start healing as he pleases.

As someone who has watched it in both sub and dub, I doubt these guys would’ve been able to engage with it as well if they tried the dub. Not all dubs are created equal, as some have VAs that do wonderful work(MHA is a good example imo), but AOT’s dub suffers a lot from their cast.

That Eren reveal always gets me. Alongside that dialogue and Eren knowing how to break down someone else was an interesting watch. Such a juxtaposition from where we started. Love the story based episodes because they really get you thinking. Another great watch boys!

I agree that this is the best option. Overall, season 4 is nicely paced 2 episodes at a time. There is a point a bit later in the season that might be better to have a 3, but we can mention that when it gets closer. Anyways, great reaction!

Another hint (if the eyes weren’t enough) that Kruger is our Eren is that he’s using the surname Kruger. Eren Kruger was “The Owl” who Grisha inherited the Attack Titan from and seemingly named his own son after to remember his mission in the walls.

All good that you guys aren’t doing the triple drop for next week. I strongly recommend though that ep 19,20 and 21 is your final triple drop with this show. That is considered the last of aot’s legendary trilogies and in my opinion it’s the best one

I can't wait for next week! One of my favorite lines in all of AOT is in episode 4x6 (65)! Also don't feel bad for watching Dub, the dub for this seems really good. Also I recommend reading the information cards at the end when you miss them, they have good world building information.

Don't feel bad about watching it in Dub. I have always loved sub my entire life, but frankly voice actors have gotten way better with dubs even as far as the past decade, and if you enjoy and absorb the story more with dub, then you gotta do you.
