As for the files, I was thinking the same thing while watching but I'm pretty sure I heard Butcher say "That's all I have" or something to that effect. It was quick enough to not notice. And we see Butcher in God U at the end of Gen V, so either Mallory sent him the file or he found it by himself at the time.

2024-06-28 17:56:36 +0000 UTCAgree with you on eps 1-3 and I think there was a reason they were dropped together. They were an introduction to the "new" Boys. It has been 6 to 12 months but a lot has changed (unlike S2-end to S3 where not much had) and things seemed a bit rushed or disjointed because of that. It always happens with time jumps in any show. So, they dropped the eps. together as a long movie knowing they have an amazing Ep. 4 coming up. And now Ep. 5. I would have loved to see a special where we see Frenchie at his meetings and meeting Colin. Kimiko going to therapy. Both of them dealing with guilt. Annie with her NGO having difficulty playing dual roles. Imo, this would've been a great way to connect the two seasons. I think Sage knew since the beginning that Homie couldn't be trusted but the offer of testing things on a global scale was too good to let go. Now, she's seeing how big of a psychopath he is. I don't think she'll join the Boys or anything but I also don't think she's on Homie's side. She might actually come out on top at some point. I think she knew A-Train to be the leak and will utilise him at some point. I think Ryan is at an impressionable age so Butcher's point to take him out of Homie's care is more important than ever. In this instance, I simply think Ryan thought Adam deserved it unlike Homie who is just a sadist. You are right. I only caught it on a second watch but Victoria had a look when she saw the leg. It was clean cut and we have been seeing the sheep ripping part everything the whole episode. She might have also sensed another person's blood on the leg as well. In Ep. 1 when we meet JDM, Butcher pours him a drink but JDM never touches it. The show has been dropping hints that he's a hallucination so it would be in brand for them to show that he's in fact real. At this point, it does seem like it's good / evil with Becca / Kessler. And at the end of last episode, he asks Becca what happened and she was silent. Did the "evil" win ?

This episode has some of the funniest Butcher lines I've heard throughout the entire series. 3. Idk what it says about me that that scene with Ryan and the executive producer is so satisfying. 4. Simon Pegg went from being lovable to terrifying to tragic and making me cry all in one episode. 😢

It's been exceptional for sure, but moreso due to the intrigue, the good writing, the humor, the tension etc. But this episode got me. The way they portrayed Hugh Sr. basically experiencing dementia was a bit too real for me. Such an amazing episode and this basically makes Season 4 on the same level of quality of previous seasons for me. Episode 1, 2 and 3 were good but felt a bit lacking in some ways, but episode 4 and 5 have been so insanely good that I just love this season Still think Sage will be on A-Train's ass I think Ryan sadly will do more sadistic things, as he clearly is the same as Homelander, just looking for love and validation I think Nadia/Victoria knows her husband wasn't killed by the Supe-Sheep And even though I already was pretty sure, this episode solidified that Joe is another hallucination by Butcher

2024-06-28 11:55:22 +0000 UTCSimon pegg was phenomenal this episode, his ending had me tearing up a bit. Homelander is so delusional it’s not even funny anymore. Ryan did a swift 180 which I was surprised about, he seemed to display sadistic tendencies real quick in the name of “justice”. So excited to see what they do with his character .

2024-06-28 07:52:04 +0000 UTCIt's a shame that we lost Simon Pegg. His performance was great. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character is not real, just like Becca. I'm with Oak, Butcher is dealing with his conscience, the good and bad. I believe Neuman knows her husband is alive; when they showed the limb, you could tell the leg was cut off cleanly, not torn off. I'm still not convinced A-Train is in the clear; Sage is up to something.
