I was in the middle of reading the Lemire & Smallwood run when this ep aired. Needless to say I rushed to finish the run right after this ep and now have it as a Trade Paperback. Love the character

I’m a tiny bit late, but I really wanted to participate in this discussion because I have DID and I love this show. Most people I know with DID love it haha. Obviously it’s dramatized because it’s a Marvel show, but the parts about living with the disorder itself, how it forms and the emotional side of it were some of the most realistic I’ve seen. I knew exactly what it was from the start because DID support groups had been spreading the news for awhile, and I was cackling/crying through the first few episodes because it was so relatable. If you go back, you’ll see there are so many subtle hints to what’s going on as Marc tries to protect Steven from the painful memories. Steven doesn’t know he has DID, yet he’s accomodating it – restraining himself so his alters can’t leave, he never talks to his mother, he doesn’t understand why he’s doing these things but he does it. People call him by different names, tell him he did things he doesn’t remember, and he loses days at a time, but he doesn’t question it because he’s not ready to face the truth yet, and it’s also just normal for him at this point. The one thing I wasn’t super into is that I feel like there’s a bit of an implication that one personality is the “real” one, which, if you look into DID, isn’t really how it works. All of the identities are equally real. But hey, it’s better than Split. (The bar is pretty low LOL. Split is the worst representation ever, just saying.) Also have to praise Oscar Isaac’s acting. He’s great in everything, but he really knocked it out of the park with this one. He’s playing multiple characters and they all have subtle differences. There are moments where you see him switch from one personality to the other in a split second, and you can tell exactly which two characters he’s portraying. This show is what made me a fan of his.

DID is controversial because of social stigma, but it’s undeniably real. It’s in the DSM-5. If you research into what it actually is in real life, it’s not hard to believe at all. The dramatized Hollywood version is what seems unrealistic

I forgot how amazing this episode really is. NOW you see why this is my favorite Marvel show.

Edit after watching: I dont think anyone else has said this but - i HIGHLY recommend watching the "assembled" BTS movie of Moon Knight. Its super interesting! - one thing you learn is all the scenes where Marc and Steven were on screen, Oscar Issac's brother played the opposite character to give Oscar someone to act with. So all the scenes where the two are hugging its Oscar and his brother - and I think thats really sweet

I NEED them to watch Andor!!

This episode was so good.. I definitely teared up a little watching it the first time.

I was right when I said that your mind will be blown during the reveal. This was such a brilliant episode, specially since DID was (and still is I believe) such a controversial topic. However, when portrayed like this, you can’t help but wonder if there’s an actual truth to it. People react to trauma differently, our brain’a response so unpredictable, that it can be so easy to believe that different personalities could be created within the creases of our mind just to escape the pain and suffering. It’s so heartbreaking if you honestly think about the entire concept about such a thing existing. I’ve never heard nor seen any of Oscar Isaac’s films before but wow is he fantastic in this, I became a fan. Kudos to the writing and director too.

Loved this episode, loved your conversation at the end, you all nailed it, Oscar's acting here is top notch, the part when he is looking at the phone and a tear comes out of steven's eye, just like that, the shock of how Marc broke and started hitting himself on the face was wow because he was so pulled together the entire time. Amazing acting

Finally! Long 5 weeks for this amazing episode lol

CammProdz

Will you be watching any of the Star Wars Disney plus shows?

Christy Oliver

Yall should look up how Ethan Hawke came to be Harrow, Oscar Isaac ran into him at a coffee shop randomly during covid and thought he would be good in Harrow’s roll so he pitched it to him in the coffee shop

Steven Warner

This episode was peak storytelling/acting, but I also had tears in the final episode & the action was fun.

This one is definitely my favorite episode of this show/season. Oscar Issac absolutely did a phenomenal job, as yall already said.

TexasSnyper

I'm gonna be honest. Watching this for the first time with you guys and haven't loved the show so far. However, this episode was brilliant. Some of the best storytelling the MCU has ever done and one of the best backstories to a superhero ever put to screen. Hats off to the writers on this one, man did it pack a punch

Ivan Rasmussen

The Crowded Room on Apple TV is a TV mini series about somebody having Dissociative Identity Disorder and it’s based on a real person. It stars Tom Holland. Worth considering watching even if not for the channel.

Welcome 🤗

Something I love about Oscar Isaac’s acting in this series is how his body language is different for Steven and Marc. Steven walks slower, more hesitant, less confident. Marc is the exact opposite. These subtleties make his performance even more unique.

This made me just absolutely love Oscar Isaac, and just the all around mental health around moonknight is just so cool to see, TW alongside other mental things like iron man and his panic attacks/hulk with his suicidal thoughts it’s really cool to see marvel show sides like this

Michelle Kaiser

Yes, from what I remember this episode is WILD. Gonna watch right now 🌙

This is definitely my favorite episode of the show, Oscar Isaac really gave it his all with the acting in this episode!! Also have to say that as a comic fan this episode was one of the best comic adaptations that Marvel did so far in my opinion, it’s based on the Lemire & Smallwood Moon Knight comics so those are worth checking out for anyone who loved this episode.

I have been refreshing my screen obsessively for the last three hours - my reward is here! :)

Fin McCann

One of my favorite actresses Tatiana Maslany is also really good at playing multiple characters in one show. She starred in the show Orphan Black, she's so good that I keep forgetting she's one actress playing multiple roles. She and Oscar Iisac would be great acting in something together.

aaaah, it's this epi! can't wait to watch this reaction
