The MonsterVerse always brings high-octane action and excitement, and this installment is no exception. Itβs a fun watch, featuring all the Monsters we love. Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle return with strong performances, as expected. Dan Stevens provides solid comic relief alongside Brian Tyree Henry, and the humor lands even better this time around.
The film's atmosphere and creative choices give off an 80s vintage vibe, with a vibrant feel. The music and color palette perfectly complement the cinematography, enhancing the overall experience.
There are plenty of surprises, and emotional moments with both humans and monsters, and while the exposition isn't flawless, the plot remains engaging and fun. The monsters continue to captivate, with their unique personalities and interactions driving the story forward. "Godzilla x Kong" turned out to be much better than we anticipated.

I love Godzilla movies and my niece who is 10 saw the trailer and wanted to go see it. So, I took her and the rest of the family to see it opening weekend and we all had a blast. Anytime Godzilla, Kong, and Mothra did something cool my niece would turn to me and rave about it. Think I might have a little kaiju junkie in the making.

The Lord of the Rings references gets me every time haha That was great fun. Awesome as always boys! On another note: I don't know if you have Godzilla Minus One on the list later on. But man! What a film. Came out at the same time as this one in end of 2023. Won a well deserved Oscar in my opinion. (FIRST Godzilla movie that won an Oscar btw) Especially with a 10 million budget if I'm not mistaken. The Japanese are geniuses. Acting is great, story is great.

2024-06-13 16:59:34 +0000 UTCSo I didn't really like it too much, the first time I saw in when it released, especially following Godzilla Minus One, but on 2nd rewatch, its more enjoyable lol. The action sequences were a lot of fun, had some laughs, hand some tears. My complaints were mainly just 1) not enough Godzilla, and 2) I felt like the Visual Effects were not on par compared to earlier films. Like, Kong looked amazing, but the CG for Godzilla was really, to me, subpar compared to earlier installments, it irked me, lol. I wasn't expecting Mothra though and I was soooo happy lol. Very over the top, cheesey, ridiculous fun. If its not on the list, besides Godzilla Minus One and Shin Godzilla (which are both standalones, for right now unless sequels are happening so you don't need to prep for it, they're like soft-reboot origin flicks, with different origins for Godzilla) but also Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, on apple prime was pretty good, and takes place a year after Godzilla 2014. Also has Kurt Russell AND Wyatt Russel ;)

So I sent a message to my buddy that I hadn't seen in like 5 years and was like "Hey, do you wanna see a big lizard and a big monkey fight a big monkey and a big lizard?" And he was like "Hell yeah". We went and had a great time. This movie is fun, doesn't need to be complex and story driven, it's just fun. It's great because you have these big monster movies that are just silly fun, but you also have films like Godzilla Minus One that are filled with Drama and amazing story telling. 10/10 for me.

2024-06-13 02:25:12 +0000 UTCLiterally loved this movie. Although in my own opinion it needs less kong and more Gman. It was Godzillas movie (2nd ) that brought up the GvK not Kong so the GvK is a Godzilla movie. Part of the Godzilla franchise kind of. And I loved Mothra too she so pretty.
