Adam Sandler stars as Michael Newman, a workaholic architect who discovers a magical universal remote control that allows him to fast-forward, rewind, and pause his life. At first, the remote seems like the ultimate convenience, letting Michael skip through the less exciting parts of his day. However, he soon realizes that bypassing these moments comes with serious consequences.

This film delivers an unexpected surprise, taking a heartfelt and emotional turn as Michael faces the repercussions of fast-forwarding through his life. It’s a theme that resonates with everyone at some point—reminding us of the value of every moment. The soundtrack had a lot of bangers!

The cast shines in their roles. David Hasselhoff stands out as Michael's obnoxious boss, providing some of the film's most memorable moments. Kate Beckinsale excels as Michael's supportive wife, and Christopher Walken adds his unique charm as the eccentric inventor of the remote.

If you haven't seen "Click" yet, we highly recommend it. It’s a film that balances humor and emotion, offering both laughs and poignant insights into the importance of living in the moment.

Adam Sandler films I liked, and recommend, that had serious parts (to me) and still had humor: 2007 I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry 2016 The Do-Over

TeenyStudio Flicks

It’s on Hulu

Another movie he stars in with a sad tone is called Reign Over Me, wonderfully performed. Also stars Don Cheadle. One of my favorite movies Adams in.

I'm Batman

I watched this when I was a kid who didn't understand this movie fully. I watched it with you guys and I cried my eyes out. I have two young kids now and I'm always so busy that I tell them "later" all the time (too much!) After watching with you guys I told my kids to get into pjs and we're going to a restaurant to eat breakfast for dinner and just have fun being silly tonight. ❤️ I have always found a way to show up to their school events or surprise them at school for lunch even if I had to call out and skip days to be there. Because that's what kids remember!

BugBite23

This is one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies, along with The Wedding Singer (which also has an incredible soundtrack, if you haven't seen it I hope you do), but this one hits so hard talking about family, and although I have the blessed to have my parents alive, every time I see this scene when he sees his father in a memory, I cry like a baby, I can't help but cry so much with this movie and this time that I have seen it again with you guys wasn't the exception, excellent reaction, I love this movie 🥺🫶🏼

Well, I put down 8 beers start from finish, and i just broke at the end. Mid thirties and this just crushed me. The ability to connect to that person who just doesn't realize how great their life is, is invaluable.

Eric Wallace

Haven't watched this yet, but I'm going to predict the back third of this wrecks Oak. Let's go!

Eric Wallace

Waiting patiently for you guys to react to Spaceman. Sandler is great in serious roles.

TerraZetzz

Awesome movie 8/10 📈

MateoP

Yeah Max removed it for June 😭

Yen Shively

I agree to an extent. Censorship is not good at all but some things shouldn’t be joked about. Just my opinion.

Alanna Banana 🍌

Yeah that last part of the film hits hard. You can't get those moments back and you only get one shot at this. Really great messages and fun comedy that is surprisingly emotional. Glad you guys liked it!

Ivan Rasmussen

I think Oak said he hasn’t seen it either so they need to get on this!

Kel

They're pretty funny to me. Cancel culture would say it hasn't aged well but comedy doesn't have an expiration date. If you aren't allowed to joke about it, then that's all the more reason to joke about it. There's nothing good about censorship.

Marco Gutierrez

Had this pulled up on Max yesterday but ended up having people over so didn’t watch. Go to pull it up today and it’s no longer on max :/ gotta get the dvd out haha

Amber Walker

I second, It's a Wonderful Life (the second time I've heard them reference the movie in the month. I'd also like to add to that list Klaus

The Truth

End brings tear every time

I feel with you Oak 😢 the scene with his dad hits me now that my dad is not anymore with us even more... 😢 Cranberries were always special to me especially song "Linger" and then also seen Dolores O’Riordan singin at the wedding 🥺

Josip Buretić

one of my kids and I's favorites.. but hey fella's if you like Walken and fun movies I highly recommend Mouse Hunt. Hilarious movie. Adam did do Spanglish which I think was his first real leading role in a more drama type film even though I guess I can be called a Rom-Com, but the year after Click his movie Reign Over Me serious dramatic role.. its about how he's dealing with losing his family in 9-11, One of my favorite Sandler performances, Don Cheadle, Liv Tyler are in that with him as well. Highly recommend you check that one out and Hustle another really good role for Adam..

Ryan Towell

Yeah, definitely. The second half is much better

Alanna Banana 🍌

Absolutely adore this movie. Probably my favorite “Non Sandler”, Sandler movie. Hits me super hard every time, as I lost my hero/best friend/Dad in 2015. It def chokes me up too Oak!! Glad you guys really loved it and loved the discussion at the end. Much love to y’all as always 💪

Yen Shively

The wedding singer is arguably the best of the three, definitely add it to your list!

Madison RaeAnn Apitz

Yes, that's why I find the first half of this film as just okay and the second is what I love, I tend to skip the first half. But the second also doesn't have the best jokes like the Michael Jackson and Britney Spears ones.

Annie519

You need to see The Wedding Singer! It's honestly one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies!

Annie519

I get conflicted with this movie because for me the first half is just okay, there are moments where I laugh, like any scene with Walken and a couple other times but the jokes are kind of flat. And quite a few jokes go on for way to long or repeated, like the dog humping, for me that got old fast. But once they skip to the 1 year later it becomes a great film, I love the autopilot idea and it gets emotional that you wouldn't have expected. Still do this day I get choked up with the scene with his dad, it is heartbreaking. And in my opinion it's one of Adam's best performances but that could also be because he wasn't acting there, he had lost his real father and was picturing him. He actually dedicated 50 First Dates to him, I am not sure how long this film was in production but it could have been very recent for him at that time. He also chose Henry to be his dad's proxy, he probably knew he needed someone that was already like a father figure for him. So, the second half definitely saves this movie for me, if they hadn't added that emotion it wouldn't have become as beloved as it is now.

Annie519

I forgot how emotional this movie gets. Damn I cried watching with you. Your discussion at the end was amazing and relatable. Second petition for you guys to watch It’s a Wonderful Life this year! Doesn’t have to be Christmas, you can watch anytime. My favorite movie of all-time for a reason! It’s just incredible.

Kel

Im 25 and “Its a Wonderful Life” is a movie that my family and I every single year watch as we decorate the tree. And I 100% will replicate it for my own children. Please watch that classic BANGER

Steven Warner

MASON QUINN NEEDS TO WATCH ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!!!!!!

Steven Warner

This was an amazing film, however my personal interpretation of this film is that Mr Sandler was skipping the wrong things in life, he totally could have skipped the work stuff and focused on the things that matter, but it was too late for him, skip the BS and focus on the things that matter, like FAMILY

Steven Warner

also pleaseeee react to more adam sandler movies!!

collette

havent watched this movie in years omg!!! time to cry again

When I first saw this movie on the docket, I knew it was going to wreck Oak. As sad as this movie is, it can be cathartic. As I’ve gotten older, I appreciate this movie more and more. I’m thankful to still have both my parents, but other than my sister, the rest of my family is gone. I work in the ship repair industry and I traveled for many years, not getting to see my parents often. Even now I’m older and I only get to see them once every few months. They are getting to that age where every day could be the day, and I can’t imagine my last memory with them being something like Adam’s last time with his father.

The Bill Casey

I appreciate your vulnerability in the wrap up, guys. I lost my mom, who was my best friend, in 2021. Our relationship was complicated as she was abusive but I still love her. Nonetheless, family is so important and you treasure the time you have with them. Sending virtual hugs to you guys. ❤️

Alanna Banana 🍌

I always shed some tears from the last 20 to 30 minutes of this movie.

Luke Morrison

Never seen the first one they did together but LOVE 50 First Dates.

Alanna Banana 🍌

I love this movie a lot. I first saw it in the summer of 2008 while at a drive in. I was 11 or 12 at the time. I thought it was hilarious but didn’t understand the gravity of the story at all. It hasn’t aged well in some parts, particularly the fat “jokes” like the women Mike hooked up with before Donna being fat and Morty asking “is that a man or a woman?” That said, despite questionable “jokes” it’s still an enjoyable watch with real emotional depth to it.

Alanna Banana 🍌

First, you guys have GOT to see It’s a Wonderful Life. You will LOVE it. It will make your heart soar. Second, I can understand why people like this movie but also why people may not like this movie. As much as the message was poignant, Adam Sandler’s “toilet” humor sometimes detracts from the seriousness. The best Sandler movies are the ones he did with Drew Barrymore (which you guys should check out if you haven’t seen yet). That being said, I knew it was going to resonate with Oak and Answer because it was close to home. I’m glad you guys enjoyed it.

Lauren

It would be great to see you react to Grown Ups as well lol

Brooksie

I grew up on Adam Sandler and loved this film! I'm still a young adult and can't relate to his character all that much but it is still such a great watch. Loved your reaction!

Brooksie

This movie makes me cry every time I watch it, definitely different then what was his usual M.O. around that time. But its one of my favs, I even have this on UMD disc for my psp, bought back when they still had those lol. Just watched his new movie Spaceman, with Paul Dano, earlier this week too, and, well, watching Click today has now made it twice I cried to a Adam Sandler movie this week lol. Glad ya'll enjoyed it so much.

Anza

Imma assume in 2 weeks

Thepuppetmasta

i think this movie is very underrated in terms of how heartfelt it is. that scene with michael and his dad never fails to make me sob 😭💔 such a wonderful movie!

L JF

Now I have plans for tonight!! Thank you guys! I’ll watch with you.

Lucy Hernandez
