2024-04-22 19:20:42 +0000 UTCThis episode is such a crazy start to the season. They just show up and blow your mind with the reveal that some titans are so advanced that they can speak, control other titans, and are capable of understanding complex machines like the ODM gear.

Here, although fictional, the scene gives us the reality of how our heroes die and many times it's agonizing and horrific in nature. If he were a regular character, it wouldn't have left much of an impact. But we knew him as Erwin's most capable, second only to Levi.

Also I know the endings aren’t that interesting but just like the openings they are worth watching at least once every season all the way through. And some endings in the future do have post credit scenes but I’m sure the comment section will alert you to that when those arrive haha.

(I did this because I'm terrible with names, geography, and battle tactics, so following the series with the map made it so much easier ^^)

My long ass comment is mostly to help you remember the order of all the walls and what's happened so far since it can be a bit much sometimes to keep track of.

2024-04-15 23:26:41 +0000 UTCSPOILER FREE: Just to give a little reminder cause it can be hard to remember especially since you don't have much time to read the mid episode information cards. The basement is not easy to get to since it's Erens home in Shiganshina which is one of the outer smaller walled in "outcrops" on the OUTSIDE of Wall Maria. And wall Maria is the outermost big wall.. And both Shiganshina and wall Maria was breached in season 1 and now apparently(as far as they can tell) the next wall, Wall Rose has been breached since now they are currently finding titans inside Wall Rose. And don't forget that the inside of Stohess District, which is an outcrop of wall Sina(the innermost wall where the king resides) was trashed by the fight between Eren and Annie AND there is a F**ing titan in the wall of Stohess District?? So the basement is not easy to get to at all and they are constantly trying to deal with every new crisis at the moment. The first excursion Eren and gang was a part of was to the inside of Wall Maria, so not outside of the walls of humanity and that excursion was supposed to be a "test run" even though it seemed like the higher ups knew more than they said and maybe it wasn't just a test run since it looked like they kind of planned to capture Annie(honestly don't remember right now if that ended up being true but is sure seemed sketchy at the time). Of course everyone want to get to the basement right now but it's so much in between them and it at the moment. I would really recommend you all to read the pictures of the mid episode information cards off screen together cause they can actually be important reminders and clarifications and also sometimes completely new information, like for example the one episode with the reeeeally long text that is impossible to read without pausing. Of course only read the ones that's been shown so far to not get any spoilers. This link takes you to a safe site with a collection of all the information cards in order. There are also tabs for every season to make it easier to avoid spoilers. Then watching him die was just pure horror. This episode was exciting, frightening, horrible and amazing all at the same time. I'm so glad you guys finally watched it! I just stared at the screen with chills running up and down my body, and it only got worse when it seemed to have a cruel streak. “Oh, so you can talk” as it’s walking away while Miche’s getting ripped apart. Just chilling stuff. This season is incredible (and yet still not as amazing as the seasons that follow!).

2024-04-15 21:38:17 +0000 UTCJust to clarify because some people might be confused (I know I was the first time around) - this takes place roughly in the same timeframe Eren and the others are dealing with Annie. So the next couple of episodes will focus more on this group of soldiers. This season’s intro is a fan favorite, it’s like an anthem. The outro is one of my personal favorites, it’s just so creepy and deepens the lore with the imagery. It’s almost like a historic montage. I would highly recommend reading the story presented at the intermission of S1E25 (the two screens filled with text). As for Miche…his is one of the most brutal deaths. He is a very skilled soldier (second only to Levi) who arguably is second in command after Erwin. So watching him die so helplessly is really disturbing.

And it wasn't just the fact that he could speak, but he also seemed almost patronising, the way he was speaking to Miche, as if talking to a slow child. I was like, not only can this titan talk, but he also clearly considers himself to be superior to us dumb humans, and that absolutely terrified me! 😂 It was clear that a very dangerous player had just entered the game.
