EARLY ACCESS: Wonka FULL REACTION

This film intricately explores Willy Wonka's journey as he returns from a seven-year expedition, striving to establish himself as the foremost chocolate maker in the world. Along the way, he encounters a group of captive workers, including the endearing Noodle, and confronts adversaries such as the nefarious Chocolate Cartel trio and the relentless police force.

Timothée Chalamet's portrayal of Willy Wonka is great. Chalamet channels the whimsical spirit of Gene Wilder's iconic performance, infusing the role with his unique flair. Despite initial skepticism, Chalamet proves to be a great fit for the role, embodying Wonka's mannerisms, humor, and enthusiasm. At least to us.

Calah Lane delivers a great performance as Noodle, Wonka's newfound companion on his journey. Lane's portrayal beautifully contrasts Wonka's exuberance with Noodle's initial timidity, showcasing her character's growth and transformation alongside the eccentric chocolatier.

Hugh Grant's portrayal of Lofty, a mischievous Oompa Loompa seeking retribution, adds a delightful touch of humor to the film. Grant's brief yet memorable appearance captures the mischievous spirit of the Oompa Loompas, providing comic relief amidst the film's more serious moments.

The supporting cast, including Keegan-Michael Key and Rowan Atkinson, further elevates the film with their comedic talents and compelling performances. The music, reminiscent of the original film's enchanting score, enhances the story's whimsical atmosphere, while the CGI and practical effects bring the fantastical world of Wonka to life with stunning realism.

Overall, Wonka is a delightful film that pays homage to a timeless classic while offering a fresh perspective on one of literature and cinema's most iconic characters. From its captivating performances to its enchanting visuals and heartfelt storytelling, Wonka is a must-see for fans of Willy Wonka.

Badd Medicine

I was putting off watching this movie because the trailer made it seem so boring. I ran out of other things I wanted to watch, so today I sat down and was "fine, I'll do this one". I'm with you guys, I can't believe the trailer wasn't able to capture a single piece of magic this movie held. I'm so glad I watched it because I was so surprised at how good it was! The music score was so good, the acting was good, the characters so interesting and fun, just overall such a good time. I'll definitely recoomend this one to other ppl, because they are missing out if they don't watch it.

JiaHailstorm

I was putting off watching this movie and I'm kicking myself now because I absolutely adored it and the movie being a musical was a bonus! P.S. anytime Oak's about to cry, I CRY. Great reaction time as always with Badd Medicine, I wish Diamond Dave had seen it along with y'all!

Jorreca

Bones and All 😭

J Knight

I had the worst expectations for this movie based off of the trailer but I'm glad I gave it a chance. Agree with all of you. It was great!

J Knight

I agreed with the answer regarding the trailer. I watched it with low expectations, but surprisingly, I liked it. I loved the message they conveyed, and Timothée Chalamet's version of Wonka was great.

Arudorin

I adored this movie. It was such a fun ride, lovely to watch you all react to it 💗

Amber

The attention to detail was great with this movie. You can tell they put a lot of heart into it. It gave Paddington/Harry Potter vibes. Very charming :)

Lena

You should watch Les Miserables (2012) and Chicago (2002)

Just Lily

really recommend you guys to watch "The Greatest Showman" with Hugh Jackman!!

Milly

Loved this movie! The music is just so fun and lighthearted <3 If yall are looking for more Musical suggestions I would love to see a Cats reaction of the 1998 Broadway version :)

Calcifer

If you do another musical, consider “The Producers” won all flavours of Tony awards and touches on WW2 history for Oak

Harlee

I was really disappointed with the movie... I don't know exactly what it was, but I think it was a bit too childish and shallow for my taste. There were also almost only children in the cinema at the same time, so I was a bit ashamed because I dragged my friends to the movie. And it's so sad because as you can see here on patreon, many adults also see the movie. But some conversations sounded like they were from a very simple book for five year olds. Also the songs…meh…Mainly I watched it because of Timothee and he did a great job, but I thought the whole concept could have done better. Especially with this cast. But I'm also more a fan of the Johnny Depp version, where it's a bit more adult, mysterious and creepy. 🤷🏽‍♀️ just my taste. I really dont want to hate on the movie. Overall it was ok.

Caroline

Ooo yes! I loved Bones and All!

TingKarg

I also wasn't interested in this movie whatsoever but after watching Dune 2 (can't wait for yall's reaction to that one) I've become such a timothée chalamet fan girl lol. He is so amazing and I've been basically binging all his movies. He went from playing a cannibal, to wonka to Dune. I would love to see you guys react to Bones and All. Its the movie where he plays a canniabl. Its a really shocking yet beautiful film that I think you guys would very much enjoy. Also check out Little Women, another great performance by him.

Dana Sow

I never saw the trailer for Wonka. Just the title alone caught my attention. I rarely go to a theater, Id rather watch at home, but I knew I had to go to see it. I went alone the first time, absolutely loved it. Went a second time, this time I dragged some friends and family with me. They absolutely loved it too. I knew you guys would enjoy it!

Tony A. Aragon

I wasn't interested in the movie AT ALL at first, mainly as you guys said because of the trailer. but decided to watch it anyway out of boredom a few days ago and god, it's so good! I laughed, cried, and cried again (especially at the end scenes, ugh) and I did again when watching your reaction Such a wholesome and feel-good movie and I'm so glad I did check it out cause I would've missed out big time (also very happy you guys liked it as well😄)

patrick

Fun fact: The man who plays Abacus Crunch is married to the woman who plays Umbridge. He’s excellent in Downton Abbey, a show I highly recommend y’all reacting to!

Lauren

This movie was just wholesome

Graham F

Been keeping my eye out for this. I love the movie, saw in theater. Teared up at the end.
