EARLY ACCESS: Avatar the Last Airbender 1x8 full reaction

This was an interesting ride. Regardless, of what we think, it was still better than the film we don't talk about :) We are looking to season 2!

I suggest *you* learn to comprehend. I was very clear that in *both* versions, the adults blame him for running away when in NEITHER version they have any idea what actually happened. It's not somehow wrong or bad that they accuse him of running away in the live action because he technically didn't. My point was, you raised that point as an example of bad writing. It isn't. People blame him for running away in the live action for the EXACT SAME REASON they blame him in the cartoon: because he vanished. Period. They literally have no idea why he disappeared - because there was nobody around to tell them - and are just **assuming** he ran away. It plays out exactly the same way in both versions of the story.

Amy Petty

Nobody said he didn't get blamed in the cartoon, I said he didn't run away in the live action

Eric Dontae

Man you is so off topic please learn to comprehend

Eric Dontae

You say this like the adults didn't blame him for running away in the cartoon. They DID blame him, but it's not like the Airbenders survived to write the history of what happened and told the world that the Avatar ran away just before the Fire Nation attacked them. The entire world has NO IDEA why the Avatar disappeared, only that he did. They're landing on "you ran away" solely because that's all they've got, not because they have any real knowledge. The people living through the immediate aftermath of the Fire Nation's assault on the Air Nomads must have believed that the Avatar was killed and were expecting the next one to be born into the Water Tribe. In actual fact, that's the only explanation that would have made sense for anyone who was learned in Avatar lore. The world - the people who paid attention to this sort of thing, anyway - would have known the age of the Avatar, so they'd have known they were a child of about 12. Both Sozin of the Fire Nation and the world at large would have just expected that the cycle went on. (Which would make for an interesting story about how the war played out later). But after a hundred years of the Avatar not making an appearance, would certainly have led to a lot of people wondering WTF. Presumably at least a few would have known the implications, but the world at large may have actually begun to *lose* its general knowledge of the Avatar cycle after one failed to appear for about three generations. But the live action isn't making some kind of *continuity error* or whatever for having the adults blame Aang for running away. They're blaming him for the exact same reason, with the exact same justification - valid or not, fair or not - as are the people in the cartoon.

Amy Petty

Right its to many pauses between certain dialogue, the adults keep blaming him for running away but in this show he actually didnt run away, literally everyone has to validate sokkas character first suki then katara then the engineer then yue then yues dad , and more issues

Eric Dontae

I think it’s more the writing is sketchy than the acting

MRMOONHEAD

The acting is very bad and the writing is plain mainly for katara and iroh its just more bad than good but the bending and effects is amazing almost marvel level

Eric Dontae

I hope they will cast you as Toph and you'll give a masterclass in acting

ROKU

Bro who said you this season called "Water"?

And One More Thing Could You Guys Ask Answer Do He Knows About The Avatar Books? The Story Continues Alot After S3 Its Worth Getting Into , I think A New Avatar Should Focus On After S3 And Do You Guys Know About The Avatar Cartoon Next Year?

Watching it a 2nd time through with you guys, i liked it worse. That acting really stood out 2nd time as not great. To me its the phantom menace situation where i want to like it and look past all the weaknesses, but its hard to... If the movie didn't exist it would be different because we can all say its better than the movie lol.

James Ventola

im honestly scared if they go too slow in making the second and third season the actor playing Aang is gunna get taller as he's getting older and it would really bum me out if they need to change actor or CGI his entire being so he looks smaller x.x

Denislav Lazarov

I know I was not the only one but it is good to read someone else saying the same. Katara's acting had me rolling my eyes too many times :( the same with Aang's acting (I don't blame the actors though they are very young and they have a long way ahead to learn, crossing my fingers for season 2 and 3). And I asked myself the same with the water bending, maybe we'll see an explanation to that later??

Alexiani Gollarza

I was about to comment this. It was smart of the people doing this to choose young actors because they'll probably be doing this for several years (although I do like Arden Cho as Azula xD)

Alexiani Gollarza

Welp, since it's the last episode...the show isn't perfect but overall, I think it's okay. Visuals are great. The thing that throws me off is Katara's acting. In the animated show she's the glue of the team and many times the heart of the show. If you can't connect with her, it throws everything else off. Also, what's up with Aang just not learning water bending AT ALL?? Still looking forward to season 2.

About the face shape thing, you need to remember that these are not 20 something year old's playing teenagers. Most teenagers don't start losing the baby face look till 17 or older. Loved the reactions! Can't wait for Book 2!

Emily

Book 1 is my least favorite anyway, so If they can learn from this, which its already decent. Then Book 2 and 3 should be better/ more interesting

Graham F

It definitely wasn’t a bad season . Can’t wait for more romance between Ang and katara when they both older
