EARLY ACCESS: Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron FULL REACTION

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is a captivating animated adventure that gallops straight into the heart. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the untamed American West, this film tells the tale of Spirit, a wild mustang determined to maintain his freedom at any cost. From its stunning visuals to its evocative soundtrack, every aspect of "Spirit" mesmerizes.

The animation is great, highlighting landscapes and dynamic action sequences that showcase the wild frontier. Each frame captures the beauty and danger of the untamed wilderness. The animators' attention to detail brings Spirit and his fellow creatures to life, imbuing them with personality and depth.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is a story of resilience, courage, and the unbreakable bond between humans and animals. Spirit's journey, from his capture by humans to his quest for freedom, is both thrilling and deeply moving. His encounters with the spirited Lakota brave, Little Creek, and his beloved mare, Rain, underscore the film's themes of friendship and loyalty.

The film's soundtrack, featuring original songs by Bryan Adams, perfectly complements the on-screen action, adding emotional depth to key moments that capture the spirit of the American West and underscore the emotional journey of the characters. And let's not forget the great Hans Zimmer!

You know what I just realized? It took me until I was 20 to realize I do not like Rain. I have no idea why I have many possible reasons but I don't know for sure why I dont like her. Maybe if there was no mare or any love interest and Spirit was just his badass self I would like the movie better. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I must say, this one is so close to my heart that I find myself tearing up every time I watch it and listen to the songs. I was born in 2002, and my parents introduced me to the movie before I could even walk. I rewatch it every couple of years, but I play the songs on every road trip. The moment we leave civilization behind and there are only mountains ahead, it's Bryan Adams for me. I have a playlist of kids' songs featuring The Lion King one and two soundtracks, Spirit, and all the classics. So when we feel emotional, my boyfriend and I sing these songs at the top of our lungs. Meanwhile, my sister and her boyfriend in the other car are vibing to Eminem. Everyone with their own preferences. But thank you, guys, it was refreshing watching it alongside you!

Ana Georgescu

Gotta say, I'm disappointed by the ratings, but I respect your opinions because it reflects your honest experience. This movie was a huge part of my childhood, so I have a soft spot for it. Definitely still listen to the soundtrack to this day. Who knew that Bryan Adams would influence you that much? XD The lyrics in his songs function as extra narration, which is why I personally believe that more voice acting wouldn't have been necessary. There is frankly too much dialogue in movies and tv shows these days. Moments are never given room to breathe; which is why I love the quiet, atmospheric nature of this movie in contrast. Again, I respect that you had a different experience, though. Thank you for at least giving it a shot! :)

AutumnM

Late watch, late comment but I just feel the need to say this. I think this movie is in no need of any more voice acting, simply because the horses speak for themselves. It's not like you didn't understand what they were saying/ meaning with their style of communication! It makes the story more realistic and deeper to let them speak in their way and not ruin it with fixed sentences thrown in. This movie is an emotional ride and one that takes the story seriously, speaking horses would've been extremely cringy to me and unnecessarily humanized. I first watched this when I was like 8 years old and I still love it to this day and yes, I still do listen to the soundtrack now and then and for me even the instrumental part is one of the most recognizable OSTs out there. Gives immediate flashbacks from the first few notes.

Doriegom

Oh my GODDDDDDD (Thank you i loved this movie sm as a kid!!!)

Emma Eugene

Eryn Young

Also when they jumped off, yes it was jumping down lol because when you see the point from high it looks even but they hand up at the same level with the colonnel ahah

Lilithyr

Hi 👋🏻 new here.. I really love western movies, but how refreshing to see one told by horses.. I love how brave Spirit and Little are Creek are ❤️

Adriana Vargas Aguilera

Fun fact, I don't know if Brian Addams now speaks french but back when this was released he sang all the songs in perfect french for the traduction. Everything fits perfectly in the french version as well for traductions

Lilithyr

Please Watch Brother Bear. It is a great movie. The story, the animation and the soundtrack, they just hit!!! 🔥😊

SailorChristy91

I grew up watching this movie since it came out. I broke many VHS/DVDs from how many times I watched and rewatched it. It gives me so much nostalgia and my ultimate comfort movie, even though I do tear up every time.

America Flores

Agreed!! Brother Bear is one of the best!!

Nick

Thirding this! Also Rise of the Guardians! Both are so under rated!

Elizabeth Green

Brother Bear is another great animated movie

important nobody

Absolutely felt the same!!! I didn't realize I'd be crying this much even when I knew what was going to happen!

BugBite23

I've watched this movie when i was a kid and here i thought to myself... I'm fine... im a grown up now and this won't get me emotional... well long story short...GIVE ME ANOTHER TISSUE

Denislav Lazarov

Favorite childhood movie 🥺 Reminds me of my grandmother

BreezyBri

Happy Easter Badd Medicine! Thanks again for the great content y'all!

brendan mcnally

Seconding this. Also has a star studded VA cast (Jeff Goldblum, Patrick Stewart, Steve Martin) that I didn’t even realize until I was an adult.

ZJ Johnson

i cried right away with the first song all memories came back

Vasileios Mitsos

This was the first animated movie my mom ever took me to see in theaters. I was 8 and cried when we thought Rain got shot. My mother was horrified

Ashley

I second this even though that movie absolutely wrecks me every time lol.

Miya

Prince of Egypt is another classic Dreamworks movie!

Shanelle

This movie was everything to me as a kid. I don’t know how many times I watched it, but it’s been YEARS, at least a decade and a half since I had last seen it. It was so fun to watch with you guys. I was worried I’d be inconsolably emotional when watching it again but I made it through with minimal tears shed!! Thanks so much for all you guys do! So glad you had a good time watching.

Jenna

Pretty sure The Princess and the Frog was the end of Disney's hand-drawn era. Or maybe it was Winnie the Pooh, can't remember exactly.

Alex Boatman

Loved your reaction. I used to take care of injured bald eagles, they definitely can be intimidating sometimes lol

Katie

Still waiting to watch you watch Incredibles btw

Artem Dmytrenko

Watched this movie as a kid. Really loved music in this :)

Artem Dmytrenko

Please watch prince of Egypt

bella

Same it was my favorite! I remember just drawing horses after watching it x) the french version i grew up with was also really good!

Alyek

Got into riding and training horses because of this movie and the man from snowy river witch is another amazing movie and it’s an Aussie one.

utafoxy

I was determined not to cry over this movie this time, but I lost it right at the beginning when I heard the music again 🥲 was a bit surprised by some of the grades but it was a fun reaction, as always ❤️

Isabel Schertel

It was very obvious that the knife was thrown to Little Creek after he communicated with someone outside. A little disappointed with the scores but glad you watched it!

Humberto

Go back and watch the scene again, Little creek was doing some bird calls with someone outside the walls of the fort who then threw him the knife. When they ride out of the fort and Spirit gets recaptured there are 2 other Native Americans there. I have always loved this movie, and my daughters both love horses so this movie has always been popular in our house. Also wanted to point out that you get a hefty amount of inner monologue through the songs themselves.

Rachel Saunders

Always watched this movie many times growing up as a kid. The great ol' VHS days. I loved it.

Greg Z

Same here! As someone who's always had a slight auditory processing delay, it was always so amazing to be able to enjoy a movie at the same speed as everyone else (less dialogue to process and understand). This movie didn't define my childhood -- it *was* my childhood haha. I think I watched this movie once a week for a good two years when I was 4 lol. Maybe it doesn't hit as hard when you didn't grow up watching it, but it'll always have a special place in my heart! (Also the first movie to ever combine hand drawing -- the characters -- with computer animation -- the settings. It's why the apples look so different from the horses, etc.)

Megan Cunningham

Aaaa I was honestly really nervous going into this, as Spirit has such a special place in my heart and my childhood and I was so worried that you guys might think it was dumb, but it was a fun commentary! Also Oak is my new favorite person for giving this amazing movie a 5 haha

Steefles

this damn movie always leaves me teary-eyed, it has such a special place in my heart

aureo

How can you not love the voice of Bryan Adams?! The music makes this movie. I am surprised nobody seemed to talk about the theme of spirit and being free, which are the American ideals. And the power of not losing hope but rising up when hope seems lost to make a difference. You guys glossed over some powerful messages in this movie which are connected to the title Spirit. I do love this movie. Are you guys going to react to Dances With Wolves? I am surprised some of you haven’t seen it.

Ginger

Chicken Run is another Dreamworks classic that should be watched!

Tomasina Hill

I absolutely love this movie! It's one of my favorites. You have no idea how happy I was when I saw it on the March schedule. I have the whole soundtrack on my daily playlist

Emilysr97

also brother bear is so amazing I agree with you they should definitely check it out!

westtt123

Oak is us. I was jumping in my chair when I started watching this xD

Alexiani Gollarza

same here! thought i'd be all 5's but happy we got one from the oak!!

westtt123

oak just became my favorite movie reviewer of all time he totally got the premise of the movie and the messaging/emotional intelligence the creators were going for!!! Also, a major Bryan Adam fan here so still listen to this soundtrack to this day! I'm 20 years old-my grandmother and I first watched this movie together when I was a little girl (about 4) and it has been my favorite movie ever since and held a very dear place in my heart which is why I recommended you guys watch it a little while ago and so so happy you did! I would definitely search up the whole soundtrack on Spotify or something because there are even more Bryan Adam songs that weren't included in the final cut of the movie but are still so amazing! cheers:)

westtt123

I understand your opinions and respect them, thanks for giving you honest opinions and not being afraid of giving them because you could easily pretend to like it and be done with it. Again, thanks for the honestly. That being said... THIS MOVIE IS PERFECTION for me ahahahahahaha one of my childhood favorites, I can't get enough of this movie. Also, I linked my mvie in spanish because I've been watching it since I was 4 or 5 in spanish so just for this once, spanish. (this, brother bear and other movies I have to see in my language because I know the songs in spanish xD so no Bryan for me) P.S. The knive, after they escape the general the she horse immediately appears and then the friends with more ropes, the friends were near and they gave the dude the knive.

Alexiani Gollarza

Oak narrating the horse best part IMO good job Oak - OklahomaCityShrub

Garrett Gee

Oak gets it

rachele

Im actually shocked by the grades. I have NEVER seen a reactor give it less than a perfect score. As this is my all time favourite film and i listen to the sound track/ songs almost every month since i was little (i still got the CD) and watch this film a few times per year, it hurts me to hear some of your opinions. But we all have different opinions and i respect them. Its just, when you love something so dearly, you want others to love it the same way, but it doesnt always happen and thats fine. Soulbreaking, but fine XD. Thats why i loved Oaks enthausiasm. I love your guys's honesty and i wont like you less for your opinions :p. To discuss the knife, Little Creek was communicating with his people with sounds, like they do in the wild. They were able to locate where he was and thats when they threw the knife. I always thought it was pretty obvious, maybe when you watch it for the first time you can miss it? I would love for you to watch Brother Bear/ Tarzan / The land before time/ Treasure Planet etc. These are in my top 10 if not top 5. Lets see if you will (except precious Oak) give me more heartbreak with your ratings or not XD.

AyaaChann

Loved the reaction! I loved this movie growing up! As far as where the knife came from, it was thrown over the wall. When Little Creek & Spirit escape Little Creek calls for his horse & his 2 friends also show up and put ropes around Spirit. That's why Spirit follows Little Creek in the first place. Right before the knife is thrown Little Creek hears a howl and hoots in return several times. I'm assuming the howl wasn't a wolf, but his 2 friends who threw the knife over the wall. They do say he was caught by the supply wagons & may have been part of a scouting party.

Roky

You guys need to watch Brother Bear omg

J Knight

Still listening to the soundtrack! "Get Off My Back" is a TUNE!🔥

Calcifer

One of my favorite childhood movies ❤️ still watch it every now and then and definitely still regularly listen to the Soundtrack :D

Maren Trümper

gasp....not seeing white fang is criminal 😩💜

Alyssa Dyson

This movie makes me cry every time. I love that the animals dont talk in this.

Alyssa Dyson

I would like to say that the message I got from this was how horses were taken and broken into become a humans pet, when they are originally free roaming. Getting back to being free and roaming the land like they are supposed to be doing. It also gives insight to the Indians and what they endured during this time period too (in a very kid friendly way). This movie really spoke volumes in being free and respecting the cultures and animals. I absolutely love this movie and its an all time favorite of mine! ♥️ 🐎

Elizabeth Green

I listen to the spirit soundtrack of bryan adams and zimmer still to this day. loved how into it oak got. cheers

Conor Moriarty

Jenna

Natacha Pedersen

I really loved how the horses don’t speak in this film-horses are just incredibly emotionally intelligent creatures anyway, that it’s not needed.

Kaley

Been waiting today for this! Watching it now 😊. It’s such a good movie!

Elizabeth Green

I already know AyaaChann is hype for this reaction. As are we all. :)
