Added 2024-03-07 20:01:57 +0000 UTCPicking up from the end of Episode 3, both Aang and Iroh are in prison, though the Earth Kingdom has very different fates in store for both of them. In the meantime, though, they’re able to have a bit of a chat, and Iroh reveals once again that he’s much more.
Episode 4, is a much more character-driven installment thus far. Pushing both the heroes and the villains to examine their motivations and relationships. There’s also a giant badger/mole hybrid, which has to count for something.

2024-03-09 00:19:46 +0000 UTCAlso there are some seriously well done carbon copy episodes, or scenes at least, where they took what was loved about a scene, and adapted it to live action PERFECT. not going to mention any incase you haven't gotten to that particular scene yet. And I feel like they could have gone much closer to Bumi's intro/ episode, with ease and totally adapted a mirror to a live action with some little twists. just a bold character and point of the show to take in such a different direction, and I feel like they didn't improve it, or match it's likeability enough to have changed it so much.

I don't mean to steer anyone's opinion, nor do I mean to say as a fact "they ruined the character" just my opinion that they ruined him, and what was most loved about him. Maybe they'll bring him around and just wanted a different intro and arc, but out of all the things I've disliked, and started to like after a time. this one hasn't budged. I've actually loved some of the other major changed in fact so I'm not super skeptical and biased. His changes are just my biggest grievance in the show so far. The nostalgia lines they gave him, like lettuce leaf, just seem forced and miss their mark. they didn't play into my nostalgia and didn't feel like they fit the scene at all, they were just obvious attempts to help ease the super fans into a scene they know they changed too much, or a desperate attempt to try to throw something familiar in, because the changes were so dramatic. IDK just not a fan of live action Bumi yet. and have to be convinced in future appearances that they did his character justice. The rest of the show I'm liking more and more as I watch.

I'm curious if you guys noticed it. haven't finished the wrap up yet, so for all I know you might still mention it. but it hits so hard, if you didn't GO BACK AND CHECK IT OUT! every time they did an Iroh sad scene, listen carefully to the music score! <3

2024-03-08 18:14:14 +0000 UTCI get that they had to make a more negative, and war-torn Bumi but they straight up ruined a beloved character. And scene. The "games" feel so ignorant. there's no message to be learned other than "you have to learn to make hard choices" which isn't even really taught, just yelled quickly while he's trying to kill Aang. And then he just gives up 100 years of defeat and anger because Aang gives him his whistle? absolutely destroyed Bumi's whole arch, episode, character, and pretty much everything around him. I support most of the changes they've made, but not Bumi's character and the whole "trials and lessons" just seems spiteful, unimaginative, uncreative, and lacking in sustenance. no real lessons learned, no story progression. no real nostalgia, just a liberty taken and failed. IMO. Most other thing's I've disliked have grown on me the more I watch it. The more I re-watch Bumi, the more I agree, I dislike the change, and the character.

2024-03-08 17:39:09 +0000 UTCI feel it was more realistic for Bumi to be angry. 100 of fighting plus not understanding where his friend was this whole time would make any body cranky. There are some things that work in the cartoon that wouldn't work in live action in my opinion.

And I think if you've never seen the OG, this Bumi feels more align with the overall tone of the series & Katara and Sokka's trip in the SECRET TUNNEL just feels like a nice side story to build on their relationship.

They must of done something right to get season 2 and 3 already approved. Keep up the good work.

Watched the dreadful movie lol and now I watched this series. I enjoyed immensely. Episode 3&5 might be their weakest episodes in my opinion but they more than made for it on episode 6 onwards. 6 is my absolute favorite! I watched it a few times because it was so good. I became a fan afterwards. When I get around to it, I'll most definitely watch the cartoon because now I'm hooked.

I’m so excited for seasons 2 and 3, hoping the aang gang chemistry would feel like a “family” but also I was disappointed more on Bumi’s part! Like he was casted amazing but the writing for him was ehhh like I wish bumi had asked him, “ what’s his name in the end as the last challenge not telling him beforehand, it’ll be more intimate so aang can save his friends where they were stuck in crystal form not aang himself. And i wanted more cheesy pickup lines from him as they were dueling with each other instead of him being mad and mentioning aang disappearance 💀Also bumi gave him advice in the cartoon saying it’s his duty to restore balance and to confront the fire lord and YOU NEED YOUR FRIENDS TO HELP YOU land to think like a mad genius etc and Aang was the one that asked him a challenge to go down the slide with him not the other way around…😭💀I wish that was corporated in the cartoon but oh well, I still love it!! but love how they kept the cabbage man

My swift thinking brought me to these 10 words, “Don’t worry baby, it’s The Cave of Two Siblings now” I was sweating buckets as she said “oh okay” and decided to watch the rest with me
