(12:59) Some of the gods give off an aura - around Aphrodite people feel lovey-dovey, around Ares they feel angry, always ready to start a fight, all magnified by whatever is already part of them. Ares doesn't affect Grover the same way because he is deeply peaceful by nature. Percy on the other hand feels angry and resentful, a side of himself he doesn't enjoy, unlike Clarisse and Ares who thrive off war vibes (remember her laughing in the fight scenes). Percy always feels a huge weight off his shoulders in the books whenever they leave Ares' presence.

2024-03-06 06:38:27 +0000 UTCSuch a fun episode! I'm glad y'all are enjoying the show, even as a fun and easy watch. Just a tiny tidbit, Hephaestus was thrown from Olympus as a baby by his mother (Hera) and cast out from his entire family for being ugly and weak. He hates the rest of the gods as much as anyone for what they did to him, which is why Annabeth's speech about being better than that maybe would've resonated with him. That, and well...as Poseidon's son, Percy is the best chance anyone has of beating a god and they all know it. So he was a little bit moved by her speech, but he also wanted Percy free to potentially fight and defeat Zeus and his supporters. Letting him go was a win-win for Hephaestus 🤷♀️

I have to admit that in my opinion Adam Copeland as Ares is definitely my favorite casting in the entire series besides our main trio. He just portrays Ares so great that even when rereading the books now I can’t imagine anyone else as Ares besides him, he was just perfect in this role!

2024-03-05 23:15:53 +0000 UTCIt's so funny to me how Hephestus built the amusement park and then made the whole presentation about some parts of his life and betrayals towards him (Ares and Aphrodite included) while the two of them were on that ride of love suddenly witnessing that and then getting caught. They even left in such a hurry that Ares forgot his shield there. Their family is a mess. The acting in this show is really great and it gets even better and better by each episode. Also when they started filming the season Leah(Annabeth) was 12, Walker(Percy) was 13 and Aryan (Grover) was 16. I highly recommend watching The Adam project if u havent seen it.

The situations get more dire and the consequences become more of a reality. Hopefully the later seasons take on a Harry Potter style of continuing to make it darker each time

I was so excited for you guys to see Ares knowing that you're all wrestlers\wrestling fans! That made my whole day right there 😆
