It’s truly heartbreaking what happened. I’m from the UK and only after 26 yrs did the Food Standard Agency that regulates many things including the welfare of animals sold and eaten in the UK, relax their restrictions on certain farms that were affected by Chernobyl. Apparently even this far away 10,000 farms were affected, animals had to have their radiation levels monitored because of the fallout! So can you imagine what the neighbouring countries had to go through for decades. So scary
