So apparently, Rachel McAdams filmed Mean Girls and The Notebook at the same time and wore a wig for Regina George bc she had colored her hair for her character in The Notebook. Not a super spectacular bit of trivia but it wasn't something I had known before or really ever thought about and just thought I would share.

I only remembered something having to do with a book lol and some stuff at the end. So your reaction was the occasion to rewatch and the comedy holds up so well! I didn't even know Tina Fey wrote this. I think Amanda Seyfried got her role in Veronica Mars just after this movie. If you guys haven't seen Veronica Mars, you should consider it! 3 seasons, a movie and a 4th special season. It's a teen drama + murder investigation, very witty and sarcastic in tone. One of the best teen shows, quite unique. The creator was mostly inspired by the style and tone in Buffy (which is also an absolute must watch if you have never seen it) 🙂

Either it's a YT cutdown with picture in picture, or it's the full reaction without it, for which you need to play the movie on a 2nd screen or 2nd window. That's why reactors always say you need your own copy of the movie for the full watchalongs.

2024-02-04 06:26:42 +0000 UTCFun fact: This movie was filmed in Toronto and I live in Ottawa, the capital of Canada. I know people who were extras in this movie and they have shared on set stories. Regina thought Janis was a lesbian because Janis is Lebanese and she was a dumb 8th grader. I was bullied horrendously throughout elementary school all through to college. I was bullied by guys and girls and I can say there is a difference to how different genders bully. Guys beat you up, trip you, intimidate you. Girls are super sneaky: gossiping, exclusion, etc. You could walk by a group of girls and not even realize one of them is being bullied, that’s how subtle it can be. This movie nails it. - Daniel Franzese (who plays Damien) was still in the closet while shooting this movie and afterwards had the courage to come out as gay. - Rachel McAdams (who plays Regina) wore wigs in this movie and movie wigs are expensive cause they have to look good on camera. So the comment “I heard her hair’s insured for $10,000” kinda is reference to that.

It's a bit like 'Legally Blonde 2' where the plot doesn't really land and it's just a cash grab, but worse. Audience score on Rotten Tomatoes is 30% and tomatometer doesn't even have one, which means no professional critic even bothered giving a review for it. Also I'm pretty sure it was a straight to DVD type of movie. I've seen somewhere someone said 'Mean Girls 2' should be in the Burnbook lmao Edit: Oh and Tina Fey wasn't the screenwriter for that one.
