This is really my favorite cartoon of all time and what originally made me subscribe to your patreon so im really excited to see you guys watch it with me. 2024-01-24 15:03:39 +0000 UTCThat's your prerogative. Personally I don't see why anyone puts any stock into trailers. They're literally designed to make you want to go watch the movie. We've been baited by them on more than a few occasions and dumped money into something that was actually not good at all. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't pre-judge it. If you keep going to a restaurant and getting sick, wouldn't you assume it's a bad restaurant instead of thinking "maybe they got some new employees so it won't be bad"?

I'd recommend you watch the trailer breakdown the showrunners did on the IGN YouTube page, it gave me a lot of confidence about the new series.

2024-01-24 04:45:14 +0000 UTCPretty sure the runtime for season 1 is like 20 minutes longer than book 1, so yeah it’ll be a season for each book. It sounds like their cutting some of the more unnecessary stuff but building more on more important stuff like the Kyoshi warriors for example.

Just saying, if a collab' would happen.......................... I mean I love both you and her anyway so can't wait for your reactions !!

2024-01-24 04:32:34 +0000 UTCIt's always nice to see ya'll so excited. Me personally I don't think this is going to be good, but if it is then great! I just know Netflix's track record. The Witcher got ruined, Shadow and Bone got ruined, Stranger Things was ruined, 13 Reasons Why got ruined, and I know these weren't the only things affected. Time and time again Netflix keeps hiring people to do these things that have no business holding a pen let alone writing an entire script and running a show. Mind you that while Netflix initially drummed up the hype stating that the original creators of the show joined the Netflix adaptation, they just quietly let it slide that those same creators left due to "creative differences" with the showrunners. Those same "creative differences" that caused them to fire Henry Cavill from the Witcher, I'll wager. I give it a few episodes before the show starts changing and losing quality and by the end of the season it's going to be quite a bit different in extremely bad ways, and they'll justify it by "if you want it to be exactly like the cartoon then watch the cartoon". These people are really just interested in writing their own fanfiction but using characters that people know and love to capitalize on that audience.

2024-01-24 03:20:15 +0000 UTCAh, I want this to be great. They did a phenomenal job with this trailer. The one casting choice I’m most impressed by has got to be Sokka! He is exactly how I imagine him to be. The only characters I’m truly dubious about are azula (doesn’t seem fierce and intimidating enough) and maybe iroh (a pinch more goofy than wise) in terms of casting for looks, but I’m excited to be proven wrong! Used to watch this with my younger brother as kids almost 20 years ago, which is absolute insanity. We’re holding our breath, but this is the most hopeful we’ve felt for the show’s success. Can’t wait for the reactions! IMO, I’d extended the journey the Gaang goes on from 1 year to 3. Just logistically it makes sense with the bond the kids form and how long it would take to be introduced and trained in each bending element. Maybe a season per year/book?
