2024-11-10 19:13:01 +0000 UTCwhy? they can if they want to? Even so they probably prefer the emotions the original language gives compared to the almost monotone robotic dub that most dubs have... And uh you can pretty much rewind and skip whenever you want too, so idk what you're talking about (unless it's bluray or live tv then it does take more effort to do so). Especially though if these guys are watching it on an app that has rewind and forward option. And yes you do watch the same thing as them because even though it's different subs they rarely change the meaning or context of the anime, unless it's jokes they have to change to fit the viewer's culture more to help them understand. But if sub literally changes the whole meaning of a sentence then the streaming platform shouldn't sub the anime professionally should they? Therefore you will still be watching the same thing if not 99% the same. The things you mentioned just seem like small nitpicks for me. But yeah go for dub if you like it, but don't hate on the reactors for watching sub if they want to. They don't have to do dubs to fit these niche nitpicks solely for one very picky individual like you.

Subtitles are not the same on every streaming service so me watching on Crunchyroll have different subtitles than Hulu and a lot of ppl don't have the money to subscribe to multiple services. So essentially I'm not watching the same thing as you. 2. You Will DEFINITELY miss dialogue when watching sub and with this format it's impossible to go back 10 seconds to make sure you don't miss anything 3. I can't do chores and watch the reaction as Japanese isn't my first language 4. You can't skip openings in this format Dub is easier in this format Please god

2024-03-08 01:48:20 +0000 UTCAnd as someone who's watched both versions of a LOT of the show, it's just as good of an experience with the DUB acting. If anything I like some of the sound design of the english version better. Although I still enjoy the Japanese version more for obvious reasons.

2024-03-07 18:43:38 +0000 UTCOne thing I'll say is that I agree that the Sub version is always better as an experience for the watcher. and the fans want you to experience it that way. But with this show, there's SO MUCH dialog, and SO MUCH action, and the art is SO DAMN GOOD. it's almost a crime to do a reaction and read the subtitles the whole time. Especially for the veiwer I think you should be able to hear what's going on so you can study what people are doing, how they're acting, I know there's a lot of "anime" exaggerated facial expressions to show how people are feeling, but there's also subtle things. and the biggest thing people need to remember is that the ONLY thing that changes with SUB to DUB version is that what YOU GUYS hear changes. The viewer can just as easily watch the sub or dub along with you. and the youtube version might change a bit, but those who are true fans of you guys and the show, who are watching on patreon have the choice to watch along on either format and get their own preferred experience. And it doesn't alter it at all, except you the reactor gets 100% of the story and gets to enjoy the art.

I’m not a dub hater but it’s also not the same, like Oak said in the first two episodes, you feel the emotion the original VA bring into this show. It’s just completely different. I understand also that you guys will miss some stuff but most of the time that’s what this show is, you miss something but it comes into play later on, like a light bulb going off in your head.

Also, def think you guys should have Mods checking for spoilers. I know this community is extremely kind and helpful, but I also know that sometimes when trying to be helpful we are unintentionally sharing something that might be considered a spoiler. Trust me, its really hard to not answers yalls questions cuz I want to "help" too lol but I know to just let you guys go through the motions and it'll all come together in the end. It honestly surprises me people are saying for the dub at all, I mean the attack on titan dub isn't the worst out there by any means, but at least in my opinion it doesn't compare to the original, especially in the most emotional moments. Especially for your first time watching it too.

As for Sasha, I think she got off fairly easy - even if it was JUST a potato. We discussed last episode how 250k people essentially had to be sacrificed because of a food shortage, so stealing food is REALLY bad.
