EARLY ACCESS: Now you See me 2 FULL REACTION

Now You See Me 2 attempts to recapture the enchantment of its predecessor, blending mind-bending illusions and a more intricate plot, but its success is a bit of a mixed bag. The sequel introduces new characters and maintains the essence of mystery, but it also stumbles in certain areas. Prepare for a riveting experience with our INTENSE review :)

The Four Horsemen, played by Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and newly added, Lizzy Caplan, return with their charismatic chemistry, bringing a mix of wit and charm to the screen. Daniel Radcliffe (Mr. Potter himself) joins the ensemble as Walter Mabry, adding an interesting dynamic to the group. Additionally, the film introduces some new and captivating tricks that add freshness to the magical repertoire.

Commencing with a visually striking illusion, the film lays the foundation for a heist that propels the Horsemen into a worldwide adventure. The introduction of "The Eye," a clandestine society of magicians, enriches the overarching narrative, though the intricacy of the plot might leave some a little perplexed. An attempt to infuse more emotion into the film is evident through the inclusion of a backstory, offering a deeper layer to the characters and their motivations.

Now You See Me 2 is mixed with magical thrills, fun, and narrative bumps. Its attempts to expand the storyline and introduce new elements make for an entertaining watch, but the uneven execution and convoluted plot may leave some feeling slightly unsatisfied. Nevertheless, we recommend giving it a watch if you haven't seen it, as it still has its share of good moments and enjoyable comedy.

This was my first watch. I liked it better than the first.

In defence of the plane scene: It seems like at least one of the henchman started to realise that something was off, but what do you do in such a situation as a henchman? If it is a scheme from your boss you lose your head when you blow that. Also it wouldnt rly matter if they would have figured it out at that point in time, they already were busted and in the middle of the Themse. It just made for a better movie that they didnt figure out in time and would recognize it together with us.

Monstermacher

I've seen Copperfield live back in the early 90's best show I ever saw. It's crazy to figure out that the trick isn't just the illusion and props, it's also a lot of psychology. I really liked part 2 more than the first one. And I hope we get a part 3.

Ryan Towell

Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that Oak left the Potter glasses on for the remainder of the reaction once DR came on-screen. โ™ฅ๏ธ

Alinta_Energy

Oooooh the boys got feisty at the end !!!!! That was entertaining ๐Ÿ˜‚

So the first is still amazing, but I honestly didn't care for this one. I think Isla is very much missed. Her "replacement" just didn't do well and honestly, I didn't see the point of even having her there. I wish they upped Franco's role and utilized Ruffalo's role more since he was outed as the 5th horseman from the very beginning. It honestly felt like everything was filmed and then last minute they just stuck Caplan in and had her film a couple scenes talking to the main cast. Other than a few parlor tricks, what did she even do? Everyone else did grand illusions between both films, she just made pigeons appear. Most of the movie was predictable even if just a few details were off. I knew the plane was fake but I thought it'd be like Macau and they were all mind controlled instead of just a classic misdirect. The storyline felt like they didn't know what direction they were going to go. I did like the card tricks but the movie definitely didn't have the magic (as in cast, chemistry, etc.) of the first one.

Megan

They need to watch Oceans 8 also.

John F.

I will say for me it was more that some of the acting seemed a bit silly, more than the magic tricks pulling me out of it. The story lacked a little bit of emotional depth which I thought the first one did better. And I found myself looking at my phone a little more than the first one. Not really a bad movie, and definitely fun to see the cast in this one. But it was nothing really outstanding.

JiaHailstorm

A must see! A crazy but good movie. I would love to see Badd Medicines reaction to that one ๐Ÿ˜… I love that he just does fun weird stuff because Potter set him up for life money wise

Katie

Never seen it, but if Radcliffe is in it I'm game. I like his weird projects.

Marco Gutierrez

Radcliffe loves making some really weird shit, on that same note. Like... can you imagine the guys reacting to Swiss Army Man?

Jeff K

Such an underrated movie!

Katie

Yep they are just finalizing the cast and it's a done deal! So excited!

Megan Moore

Loved it just as much as the first, possibly a little more because I adore Lizzy Caplan, here brand of humor kills me! Yeah, Oak I don't mind that you didn't like it, but it was so unnecessary to trash it the way you did. Watch movies to escape from this world, don't watch movies through the lenses of the real world. I know you say you're working on it but I think you need to work a little harder.

Megan Moore

But be warned Oak with the Oceans movies you're going to have to suspend belief!! From an analytical point there are tons of plot holes and I know because I watched a show where a group of actual bank robbers, thieves, law enforcement and Casino owners all watch the 3 movies and tear them apart. But even them all having real world experience said they absolutely love those movies!! I'm on Answers side, you watch movies to be taken out of reality unless you're watching a movie based on a true story, if it's not a true story than forget about the world we are living in and live in theirs for however long the movie is. Oak please my man, if you love the Fast and Furious movies past the 3rd one, and especially when they go to space then you have the ability to ignore stuff in movies that could never really happen. I really feel like those weren't the reasons you didn't like it, which you could just say, but ripping it apart thr way you did was harsh. And Answer don't let them get on you about you "taking it personal", I do that too, the one thing I absolutely hate about movie watchers is their inability to just let the real world fade away and let the movie takes them over, why else watch movies?!?!

Megan Moore

You know if you guys want to see what Daniel Radcliffe gets up to post-Harry Potter, you should watch Guns Akimbo. That one'll take you for a loop

Marco Gutierrez

Agreed, Jungle is great movie.

Josip Buretiฤ‡

That intense discussion, iโ€™ll admit it had me dying laughing. Iโ€™ll have to side with Answer on his points though ๐Ÿ˜‚ First one was much better but this one was still fun. Itโ€™s a movie about magic you canโ€™t take it too seriously ๐Ÿ˜‚ RT scores really hold no weight anymore. To each their own

Katie

Watch The revenant! Movie that got Leonardo his first Oscar!

MateoP

I really enjoyed this one. Agree that it didn't have the same "magic" as the first but still a fun watch. This is my second time watching this one. Loved yalls reaction as always especially when Daniel graced the screen ๐Ÿ˜‚

Adrianna Marie Aka AD

Those are on the list ๐Ÿค™

Badd Medicine

okay you guys should really watch oceans 11, 12 and 13 they are so good! also great reaction and I hope they finish the 3rd!

Abigail.M

I love the first one, I don't really remember what I thought of this one, because I only watched it once, which I guess might say what I thought of it. I am looking forward to the reaction though and to seeing the movie again.

Jeremy Burch

Heard theyre making a 3rd!

BlakedAsFuh

I definitely recommended watching Danielโ€™s other movies/shows. Definitely love his choices after Potter lol. He is great in Jungle based on a true story

Katie

I like both movies and I canโ€™t wait for the third one. Itโ€™s been a long time coming๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญ.

Elizabeth Gidney

Not a single boring week has gone by since following you guys 2 years ago- also I SEE YOU DIAMOND DAVE ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ thank you for all the effort of editing and uploading you guys' wonderful reactions, still going strong this 2024 ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Jorreca

Good to see. We are curious what people think of the second one.

If you guys want another pretty fun Radcliffe movie, I'd recommend The Lost City, which has Radcliffe as well as Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, and... well, I won't spoil the other big name because it's a pretty cool surprise. But it's basically a modern take on Romancing the Stone (which is great, if you've never seen it). The Lost City is fun, and very funny. (Also, obviously Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, which is absurd but so damn funny and Radcliffe is amazing in it.)

Jeff K

For me personally I like the second one better than the first one.

Elizabeth Gidney

Answer vs oak at the end ๐Ÿ˜‚

Trigon

been waiting for this.
