Budget cuts! Anyways, the hand holding with Korra and Asami was as much as Nick had allowed back then. It could benefit from more episodes, but alas, this is all we got. I do love Korra more than ATLAB, because of the pacing and Korra as a character. Live action coming in Feb too! Read up on the comics when you got the free time (just search online)

Voltron is amazing animation by the same studios and story board people as Avatar & Korra anddddd Invincible steve yuen plays a main character!!

You guys are confusing Zuko's dragon with General Iroh. General Iroh never had a dragon. And his army surrendered in the 11th episode.

I first discovered your channel via your reactions to The Last Airbender and it's so surreal to be at the end of this (current) journey with you guys. I'm so happy you guys enjoyed this series as a whole. This was my first rewatch of Korra since it originally aired and I fell in love with the show all over again. Book 3 still remains my fave but Book 4 comes in second place. It was such a treat seeing the cast grow, especially Korra. Sometimes I wonder what route the show would've taken if there weren't so many roadblocks with Nickelodeon. With the limitations they were given, I think they managed to handle the series as best as they could. While this may be the end for now, I'm for sure looking forward to the future Avatar movies/shows to come. And definitely looking forward to seeing how you guys feel about them too!

Enjoyed your reactions so much(: Gonna miss Korra

I’m so happy that you guys enjoyed this series, watching your reactions to this was awesome throughout the whole series! I do agree with your guys that The Last Airbender will always have a more special place in my heart since it had the bigger impact for me, but like you guys said it is hard to follow up on such a masterpiece as the ATLA series was and Legend of Korra definitely did an awesome job at it!! I think that Legend of Korra even managed to deliever more amazing fight scenes and more compelling villains than ATLA did, which was obviously not easy to do. Overall I think that both of the series are just amazing together and I can’t wait to see what they will do with the next Avatar series when it’s time!

As Avatar Roku would say "Being the Avatar doesn't hurt your chances with the ladies". KorraxAsami reveal at the end was such a iconic moment, one of the first portrayals of a same-sex relationship in a American animated series. They are very lovely together in the comic series made after.

I always felt the remembrances episode could have been spent as a bit of Kuvira backstory. Can't wait to watch the Live Action with you guys.

You pretty much summed up everything I came here to say down to the hyperventilating and crying. I was in complete disbelief and astonishment when I watched it online for the first time all those years ago. I can't believe it's been a decade.

What a great journey it's been, gentlemen. We'll definitely meet again with the live action series.

Man what a journey it's been! So glad you guys watched and enjoyed this universe as a whole. I agree on the ending not feeling totally flushed out. I hope if they do another animated series that they have a 3 or 4 season plan in mind and can make it less abrupt with each book :)

Seeing TLOK live was so wild. Back when season 1 aired, a LOT of people shipped Korra and Mako, while some people shipped Asami and Mako - I remember some pretty vivid fights on tumblr back in the day. Meanwhile a very small amount of the fandom saw Asami and Korra and thought "Cute", (cause that's what we did back then cause there was almost zero representation for us in anything). The Korra and Asami ship grew a little in size during season 2, as they interracted more with each other. But it was really during season 3 that the ship blew up and became very well known within the fandom and internet - so much that the creators of the series took note of it and commented that they liked the idea of them together. Fast forward to while season 4 aired, people very WERE aware of every single interraction between Asami and Korra. From every last blush, touch, heartfelt conversation, to how Asami was the only person Korra wrote to while she was recovering. The day of the final two episodes, one of the creators tweeted that 'some people were going to be very happy with how the show would end'. A lot of Makorra (Mako/Korra) fans took this as a sure sign that they would "win" the ship-war. But there had been so many signs that a lot of lgbt people were holding their breath in anticipation - myself included. I remember bawling my eyes out and hyperventilating like an idiot when I watched it. There's nothing explicit, and it's very much 'if you haven't looked for it you won't see it', but we did see it, and we knew it was for us. And seeing Asami and Korra look into each other's eyes like that, and have the final shots of the show mirror the shot of Aang and Katara, was just so cathartic :D It also helped that the creators confirmed it right after on twitter - stating that they wanted to have let Asami and Korra kiss at the end, but that Nicklodeon had forced them not to. Rant over lol. If you don't already know there are also TLOK comics, where their relationship is explored a lot more in all its' gay glory lol.

Also Asami’s season 4 car is water tribe blue. She always went for red and black before, in everything.

Korra and Asami are canonically together. It was just 2014 and Nickelodeon, and this was as far as they were allowed to go. Same sex marriage would become legal in all 50 states about six months later, so times were different. Mako takes it well, all things considered. Also Nickelodeon trots them out every June for Pride, completely ignoring all the dicking around they gave the show and their cowardice at not allowing a kiss.

K

To add to what alannah said, the most they were allowed to do was a lot of subtle animations. The framing Asami grasping Korra's hands after she's poisoned is almost identical to Mako grasping her hands in season 1 when he realized he loved her; them blushing after being reunited and complimenting each other; lots of small side-eye looks throughout seasons 3 and 4. ATLA's ending was the culmination of a romance that had been there from episode 1, LoK's ending was the new beginning of a romance that had been very slowly building.

Loved your reactions to this and Avatar! So glad you enjoyed it all.

Jeron Edwards

They are making 3 new avatar shows!!! The Netflix live action, the animated sequel, and there will be another avatar show as well!! It’s set after Korra and its with the next avatar and he is from the earth kingdom!

Corey Weiner

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the series overall! Korra and Asami were actually one of the first sapphic relationships portrayed in animation and are often praised for the representation however because of the unwritten rules about showing same-sex couples in shows for kids in 2014 by Nickelodeon, their feelings were only alluded to despite what the creators wanted to portray. There is also a 5th book from the comics that wasn't animated that does continue the story further, showing Korra and Asami as a proper couple!
