I think it's because the 2005 version is more faithful to the source material in all aspects, even though the 1971 is absolutely a classic.

2023-12-30 18:45:29 +0000 UTCI like both movies for different reasons. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was the first book I read as a child, so I wasn't happy with the movie at first, It grew on me over time. Love Gene Wilder. Like the Johnny Depp version better.
