It was great to re watch this before I see the new one. I'd also love to see you guys react to James and the Giant Peach 1996

How did i miss this, Watching this tonight Let's go!

James Ventola

I definitely recommend watching the newer Johnny Depp version. It's not nearly as creepy or "adult" as the Gene Wilder version and I think it captures so much more of the childlike wonder and hope that the book had. It's also just closer to the book in general. This version is a classic, but the Johnny Depp version is definitely better.

Marco Gutierrez

Yup. That will come.

Badd Medicine

I'm just assuming you guys are going to watch the 2005 one with Johnny Depp and I love it bc it actually follows the book a lot more then this one did I cant wait you guys keep reacting and ill keep watching

Jordan Garrett

Everything okay with Oak? Don't remember seeing him check his phone during a reaction since the early days.

I haven't seen this one fully since I was a kid. My grandma was a big movie fan and this is one that she played alot. Surprisingly I wasn't much of a fan of it. But I know the last time I saw some of it (several years ago) it seemed more enjoyable. So I'm excited to do a full rewatch now with your reaction! Going to have some dinner and watch. 🤗 I think you guys should react to the remake with Johnny Depp though it's totally different and ridiculous. 😆 I remember watching it when I was in middle school and for some reason my friends and I just loved it. It was sort of a "trending" thing for us. We would recite some of the quotes randomly at school. It just stuck with us and we thought it was funny. But a fan of the original probably wouldn't like it, or like it as much. There's also another remake? Coming out soon or just released? Maybe not a remake but a sort of prequel? Not positive. It's called Wonka and I haven't really looked into it yet but I know it stars Timothée Chalamet. Could be good. 🤷‍♀️

Sarah

Think we need to do the Depp version where Norman Bates plays Charlie.

Ron Banks

Hell yeah cant wait 🤙

Animal

Only natural now that you all watch Snowpiercer lol.

Shazon D Lothan

Wow! That was wonderful! It's been years (maybe even decades) since I'd seen this. And I don't think I ever appreciated as a kid what a fabulous sassy bitch Gene Wilder's Wonka is! Absolutely fantastic watch for this foggy and cold Saturday morning!

Jessi

i have a feeling you guys won't like the reboot as much as this one but i love johnny depp's take on wonka 😂 hilarious, but in a different, more johnny depp way

J Knight

Juley

Also, watch the Pitch Meeting to this movie. A lot of things you are mentioning, he makes fun of.

John F.

We need to add Young Frankenstein to the list. It is one of my favorite Mel Brooks movies. Have you all seen Blazing Saddles?

John F.

Loved this movie as a kid and found a whole new appreciation for it as an adult, especially the dry humor. Little bit of trivia is the director was only known for making documentaries at the time which can be seen in the golden ticket hysteria scenes prior to entering the factory as well as the opening title sequence.

MrCAL

Great reaction as always guys, hope you react to the tim burton/johnny depp version too which is personally my favourite wonka movie.

Animal

Gene Wilder was the perfect Willy Wonka. He improvised that somersault when you first see him, no one knew he was going to do that or even him coming out limping like he was, he did that so for the rest of the movie you didn't know what was going to happen and made Wonka unpredictable. He also improvised his big outburst at the end, the others had no idea he was going to do that so there reactions were genuine. I love his little comments, you also see signs of him having OCD. What I always like about this movie is how the first half is very grounded, almost like real life and once you enter the factory it's like you going into another world. The songs are classics and for the time the effects were very good, yes you can see it now but can't blame them for the time but honestly even now I see worse green screen effects, lol.

Annie519

It’s late right now but I’m always ready to enter a world of pure imagination. LETS GO!!!!

John F.

I saw this as a child when it came out and got very upset at Veruca's demise. My parents called me a brat and well... the oompa loompas had a whole song about it. I love this movie and I loved your reactions!

Raevyn McCann

yayyyy

J Knight

Personally like the Johnny Depp version more, but this one is always a classic

Thepuppetmasta

I hope you guys react to the remake with Johnny Depp as its also really fun.

Josh B.

Dropped everything to watch right now! As one of the theatrically inclined patreon members, I’m stoked! And what a hell of a performance from Gene Wilder, huh? Cheers fellas I just got to “I’ve got a Golden Ticket”, and I remembered I have a friend who does an annual post about how Grandpa Joe is a horrible person for what he did to his family😂

Trey Nicholson

I (DD) am still editing it as we speak. We always get that out before it hits YT.

Badd Medicine

lol actually it was delayed since today is the day for it. I had the wrong date set on the post-scheduling. It was set to release Dec 2 instead of today Dec at 3 pm. Good thing some peeps were starting to comment about where is it. Otherwise, it would've been tomorrow lol. Also..... Bear DOWN!

Badd Medicine

The "delay" which really isn't a delay btw, anyways, been a long day so this is a fun surprise because I was not thinking you guys were dropping something today, so now today is a lot better LETS GOOOOO (also bear down dave)

Graham F
