They've wrapped up all the stories beautifully, putting a perfect bow on this series. They had great source material to work from. Hats off to the cast and crew. They always crush it.
It's challenging to declare which series is the best; each has its unique story that sets it apart. What's your favorite series so far from Mike Flanagan?

My sister had an interesting theory about Maddie's pause when Roderick took the deal - it wasn't about her being surprised he took it so quickly...it was the fact that she has always pushed him to do the dirty work and she never directly faced the consequences of his actions...however, here, Verna is making her actively participate in the "act".

2023-12-02 08:54:04 +0000 UTCI just watched Midnight Club after I have finished with "Usher" and I have say I have really enjoyed it. It is not scary show but very good writing(like all Flanagan's shows) and very moving story. I hope our guys will eventually react to it I would really love that

Also go ahead and see The Midnight Club, even though it's nowhere near as strong as most of Flanagan's shows. Flanagan didn't direct most of the Midnight Club episodes and it shows. But I still enjoy it and there are a number of Flanagan regulars.

Sad to know Netflix didn’t value him enough to keep him there. Curious, if Amazon will allow him to produce this well of a series on their streaming services. Let’s cross our fingers and hope they do. I can wait to see what else he comes out with. Y’all should watch Doctor Sleep, ifs directed by Flanagan with some of the cast you see in Fall of House of Usher. Love to see your reaction.

Also, The Cask of Amontillado is my favorite Poe short story and I like how they gave hints from the beginning/told us what Rufus' death was. In the story, the guy walled up was not poisoned so he died an extremely slow and painful death. I'm wondering if Madeline really did poison Rufus just because she has a vindictive side. Plus, her comment about him losing his candlelight in an hour makes me think she didn't. And also, did they just leave Rufus in the wall? That was my takeaway when Augie put the tape on Roderick's grave and said he didn't care about his confession, etc.

2023-11-30 23:34:11 +0000 UTCWhen Verna mentions to Froderick that he would have been a Dentist in another life, and Roderick a Poet, I like to think that maybe thats the life of honest struggle that she was referring too in this episode. Not a life full of just pain and suffering but a regular life that they have to fight hard and honestly to achieve, with the riches of family but the anxiety of failure. Netflix is so lucky to have Flanagan. I loved this show, its tied for first place with Hill House for me.
